My Hero Academia returns

My Hero Academia has returned for it’s much anticipated 3rd season. This episode, “Game Start” was largely playing catch-up, if your fan that has been watching the series from season 1 this episode was largely a waste of time. I still enjoyed it but almost nothing new was introduced and the story didn’t progress. At one point Eraser recalls all the powers of Class A1, this is played for laughs as a fellow teacher asks to be “reminded” of the students. However, this was probably necessary due to the large number of characters.

This episode does overdue the “in episode” recap, Kurogiri recount’s Deku’s actions, and Deku rematches old footage of All Might. We see flashbacks of the sports festival, practical exams, and student’s facing off against Stain. We find that the superheroes have been training during their summer vacation. If there was any progress it was with the characters and their friendships. Deku and Ira have a conversation about the fact that at the beginning of the series Ira didn’t think they would become friends.

More surprisingly, Kirishima and Bakugo “friendship” (Bakugo is always so difficult) was at least briefly focused on. When Kirishima arrives at the pool late he apologies because “it was difficult to get Bakugo to come along.” After they are kicked out of the pool he calms down or tries to calm down Bakugo. Kaminari and Mineta have also developed a friendship, seemingly built on their perversion. Regardless, their perverted plot was comically foiled. Overall, this episode was more of a primer for the unfamiliar, but at least My Hero Academia has returned.

My Hero Academia Chapter 157: Infinite 100% Review

Izuku grabs Eri

Izuku uses Mirio cape to bring Eri into his arms. He promises that “that he will not let go of her this time.” Kai Chisaki becomes enraged and demands that Izuku “hand Eri back to him.” Izuku wants to be the type of hero that “wipes everyone’s worries always, always wins and saves everyone.” He activates One For All 100% and attacks with a kick, while Chisaki attacks with stone pillars. Surprising himself and everyone else Izuku was able to launch into the air.

Chisaki pursues Eri and Izuku

Chisaki is injured by Izuku’s attack. He fuses with Rikiya Katsukame, going after Eri and Izuku. Sir Nighteye is badly injured, he warns Ryukyu that “Chisaki is going to pursue Izuku and is intend on not only getting Eri back but murdering Izuku as well.”  Uraraka considers aiding him, but she collapses due to loss of stamina. Sir Nighteye convinces the others that he will stop Chisaki.

Eri’s powers

Izuku manages to safely land. His legs that were once broken are healed by Eri’s ability. However, Izuku quickly begins to feel tremendous pain from One For All 100%. Chisaki tells him that Eri has released her powers, but doesn’t have the ability to control them. He clarifies that Eri can rewind humans and she can even turn humans back as far as monkey’s or even “nothingness.”

He refers to he quirk as a curse and demands that Izuku return Eri. Izuku refuses to do, claiming that he believe’s Eri’s quirk is a “kind, gentle Quirk.” In combination with Eri’s quirk, Izuku plans on going all out, activating One For All: Full Cowl: 100%. It’s a fairly predictable chapter now that Eri is “safe.” However, I don’t think that Izuku will be the one that defeats Chisaki. It appears that Sir Nighteye is going to sacrifice himself to save Izuku.

My Hero Academia: Chapter 149 Review, Joi Irinaka defeat

Himiko and Twice join the Precepts

Twice and Himiko meet with Chisaki, he apologizes for murdering Magne. He asks them to explain their Quirks, they do and they’re welcomed to the Eight Precepts of Death. Chisaki doesn’t trust them yet and orders them to remain underground for now.

Mimic’s defeat

Joi Irinaka aka Mimic, becomes enraged altering the labyrinth. Himiko continues to insult Mimic, calling him a “wimp,” who “doesn’t want to admit that he is weak.” She continues to berate him calling him “lame” for hiding himself. Mimic yells loudly, given away his location to Izuku. Using his One For All Full Cowl, he jumps up to the ceiling, kicking it, revealing Mimic.

Shota activates his Quirk, disabling Mimic’s ability. He falls to the ground, with Himiko and Twice telling him that they “will do as they please.” Sir Nighteye throws his Hypermass Seal, hitting him in the face, knocking him out. Everyone is now free of the labyrinth. Finally, we see that Mirio has caught up to Chisaki and Chronostasis, asking to “talk with Chisaki.”

I find Mirio request to “talk” to Chisaki to be strange. Is he going to betray the heroes? Does he believe that he can reason with him? The betrayal of the eight precepts by Himiko and Twice is predictable, it was never convincing that they had any loyalty towards them. Regardless, Mirio is probably in danger, so far in the series none of the heroes have been murder by villains. I wonder if that will happen in this arc.

Boku no Hero Academia: Ch. 148 Review

Izuku and Shota realization

Izuku checks on Shota, however, he tells Izuku to focuses on Lock Rock, who’s in worst shape. Shota feels that he underestimated the deadliness of the mission, realizing his careless error. Meanwhile, Izuku also has a realization, that “Camie” from the Hero License Exam was Himiko Toga all along.

Sir Nighteye vs Twice

Twice orders the Rappa clone to attack Sir Nighteye. Nighteye easily dodges his assault and counters with a kick. He then throws a Hypermass Seal at him smashing him into a wall. He explains that “when it comes to close combat and prediction he is quite fast, but what he didn’t predict was the League of Villains teaming up with the Eight Precepts of Death.” Shota and Nighteye both seemed shocked that the League of Villains have sided with the Eight Precepts. The Rappa clone dissolves and Twice decries the “uselessness of the yakuza.” Twice ends up fleeing at the attack from Sir Nighteye.

League of Villains and the Eight Precepts

Tomura in a flashback reveals that he decided to ally the League of Villains, but vaguely explains why. Regardless, he sends Himiko and Twice to “seal the deal.” Twice berates Mimic for his weakness and Himiko insults the boss of the yakuza. Mimic becomes enraged and decides that he will allow the Heroes of to have an easier time in order to “crush them all to death.” This chapter was a bit confusing, mainly the motivation for the LOV. Shota and Sir Nighteye raised this question, but it felt like the was suppose to be an answer, but it wasn’t. Sir Nighteye fighting ability seem impressive but wasn’t explored in it entirety.

Epic Battle: Izuku vs Shoto

The much anticipated battle between Izuku and Shoto begins in episode 10 of Boku no Hero Academia. Titled, Shoto Todoroki: Origin, this episode was wall to wall action and the animation was spectacular. Shoto quickly attacks Izuku with his Half-Cold, Half-Hot quirk, creating pillars of ice, Izuku counters with One for All, using his middle finger. He creates a powerful gust of wind, destroying the ice and breaking his middle finger.

They repeat this pattern several times, then Shoto uses his ice to get closer to Izuku. Engaging in close combat, Shoto gains the upper hand, trapping the foot of Izuku. Left with no choice, Izuku uses his quirk with his entire fist, knocking Shoto backwards. Shoto attacks again, but Izuku destroys the ice once again. He then criticizes Izuku for using only half his powers. Enraged, Shoto runs toward Izuku, but the negative effects of his quirk has caused his body some frostbite. He’s slower and Izuku manages to hit him directly in the stomach.

Izuku continues to challenge Shoto’s resistance to using his fire ability. Shoto flashes back to his traumatic childhood. He recalls being abused and isolated from his siblings and how he came to hate his father. Izuku tells Shoto that, “his fire power belongs to him and only him.” Shoto finally activates his fire powers, his father Endeavor is delighted, both Shoto and Izuku gear up for their clash. Shoto uses a massive wave of ice, while Izuku use his quirk on his leg. Cementoss attempts to intervene to protect them from their attacks. Shoto shots his fire and Izuku causes a powerful shock-wave. As the smoke clears, Izuku has been knocked out of bound, giving Shoto the win.

It’s easy to see Izuku and Shoto as enemies (Shoto even states that they are), but they’re not. Considering that both are hoping to become heroes, they are one the same side. In this context, Izuku helping and then losing to Shoto will ultimately be to the benefit of the greater good. We also are explicitly told that all quirks come with downsides, we can clearly notice Izuku’s quirks downside, but sometimes we don’t see the other quirk consequences. Overall, this episode was amazing and worth watching.

The views of a villain in My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia

Chapter 115 – Unleashed

The view of a villain

A man stares out of the window watching the civilians going through their daily lives. He is disgusted, but a voice inside his head disagrees. The media continue to discuss the retirement of All Might. The man feels that the change that has effected the average civilian is most is the accession of Endeavor. Endeavor is the new number one hero, but the man suggests that he is a fraud, that’s undeserving of the number one spot. On television, Mr. Miyagi suggests that due to his personality he isn’t well liked. However, he believes that the public should focus only on his good qualities. The man turns of the television off and heads outside.

Jin talking about the plight if heroes

The rise of the villain

The man states that the weak spirit of heroes is the real problem not their power. Meanwhile, the voice in his head disagrees, telling the man that “power is all that matters.” The man witnesses a robbery, the villain attempts to escape and is stop by a hero. The hero is hit over the head with a crowbar. The group of villains identify themselves as the “Reservoir Dogs.” The man believes that without All Might, villains are now multiplying and becoming more emboldening. The man’s phones suddenly begin to ring and it is Giran, a broker of the League of Villains. The men exchange the pleasantries and Giran tells the man that “Tomura Shigaraki wants the League of Villains to gather together.” Giran tells him that the League of Villains will meet and hang up.

Many of the members of the league have decided to recruit more members, Dabi is seen burning villains he sees as trash. The man begins to panic as he starts “splitting.” He explains that his quirk is “doubling,” he said he clone himself over and over. He ruled over his clones like a king. However, the clones began to believe that they were each the original, Jin BubaigawaraThey began killing each other, with the original Jin receiving a scar. Jin has witness the Reservoir Dogs have been defeated by another group of villains. Jin feels that heroes and villains have undergo change in their appearances, but what he thinks matters the most is “understanding who you are.” Meanwhile, we see that All Might and All For One having a conversation in the maximum security prison.

All Might meeting All For One

This chapters focusing on the view of a villain is very interesting. First we aren’t told who the man, later revealed to be Jin Bubaigawara aka Twice. The views of Jin are more nuanced than expected and I was invested in his opinion. It makes sense that with All Might’s retirement, villains would take advantage. However, the resurgence of villains will likely result in the same in heroes. Jin reminded me of Rorschach from Watchmen, with his mask and his monologues. I hope this continues to be a trend in this series, I really enjoyed it.

Chapter 110 – Rescue Maneuvers Continued

Yoarashi Inasa, aka Gale, uses his wind powers to move rubble with surgical precision. However, he is penalized for being too reckless. He response favorably and ends his technique. The students continue to discuss what they should or shouldn’t do in regard to the situation. The exam is clearly designed to teach the students to work together and hone their quirks. If he students learn the scope and limitation of their quirks, so that they can be more effective heroes.

006-4

However, according to one civilian the students “waste too much resources” and aren’t likely to pass as a result. Katsuki runs into two civilians with arm injuries, he rudely tells them to keep moving. He concludes that “refuses to help them since they can still move their legs.” He is actually not penalized for not helping them, but for his rude language. Izuku brings another injured child to the healing shelter, meanwhile, Gang Orca arrives, adding another problem onto the current situation. The testing has gotten more interesting and it seems that the students aren’t doing too well.

008-5

It’s important that the students learn to work together, and even some of the student’s have decided to work with other classes. With, Gang Orca now an additional problem has increased the difficultly. I wonder how the students can balance the injured civilians with Gang Orca. I can assume that some of the more fight oriented students like, Katsuki will fight and students like Izuku will save the civilians. It will be interesting to see which behavior is ranked higher.

Eileen, the scarlet despair, uses her “enchant,” spell to change the soldiers into “berserker’s.” The soldiers abilities are enhanced, but they lose their ability to reason. Ezra attacks the berserker, to no avail as they are impervious to injury. With the large number of soldiers the Fairy Tail guild, is in trouble. Makarov accessing the situation aims to end the fight with the use of Fairy Law. The members of Fairy Tail are excited at the use of this spell and they feel that the battle will be won as a result.

16-17-8

Mavis arrives and informs Makarov that she has a plan that can save everyone. Makarov tells her that he will sacrifice himself for his “family.” He enacts his final spell, “Fairy Law.” His sacrifice has all the fairy tail members in tears. I think that Makarov’s sacrifice was hasty, as Mavis may have had a plan. He also seemed to think that Mavis didn’t love or care for the members of Fairy Tail. Anyway, his death will likely turn the tide of battle in their favor.

Chapter 842 – the Power of Fullness

Luffy continues his consumption of the biscuit soldiers as Cracker creates more. Nami comes to Luffy’s aid by using rain to soften the soldiers. Luffy seems full and Nami tells Cracker that Luffy has “unlimited hunger.” Luffy continues to eat the soldiers, meanwhile, at Sweet City, the civilians are shocked when they see Chopper and Carrot running through the mirrors. In Germa Kingdom, the preparations for the wedding is ready and Sanji is healed by his sister.

002-0033-1

Sanji and his family begin their trip to Whole Cake Chateau. We return to the Seducing Woods, where we see that Luffy has reached his limit. Cracker believes that this is his opportunity to attack Luffy. Luffy uses his current size to reveal a new form of Gear Fourth, Tankman. Cracker is unimpressed and attacks Luffy with Pretzel. His attacks are absorbed by Luffy, a long with Crackers entire body. Luffy shoots out Cracker like a cannon ball.

0121-2

The story feels like it’s reaching toward a climax. Sanji is finally coming to Whole Cake Chateau, while Chopper and Carrot seem to be heading there as well. I think Cracker has finally been defeated and with Nami’s new found power over the homies, they would be heading there as well. I like that Nami got to be more effective in this fight. I wonder how far the homies will follow her.

Chapter 109 – Rescue Maneuvers

The examinee will be conducting rescue missions, for the next exam. They will be graded on their ability to be effective in rescuing the civilians. The civilians are trained in rescue maneuvers, the are part of a company called HUC (Help Us Company). Mera states that the civilians are disguised as ” injured victims and are scattered throughout the disaster site.”

0133

The examines are graded on a point system, if the students are graded above average, they will pass. Izuku and Tenya realized that this exam is modeled after the Kamino Incident. As the exam begins, they are told about the scenario for the exam, basically  a “large scale destruction of buildings have resulted in large numbers of victims. The damage to the roads are severe and the emergency unit will be considerably late. Until the emergency unit arrives, all rescue activities will be left to the Heroes and they must save every life they can.”

006

The doors open and the examinees begin to rescue the civilians. Izuku, Ochako, Tenya, Minoru and Mina first encounter a crying baby, “who screams that his grandpa has been crushed.” The crying baby docks points from Izuku for his response to the situation. The baby tells Izuku that, he should “check if he can walk and his breathing and notes that he is bleeding. The child tells Izuku that is he wants a Provisional Hero License then he must be able to access the condition of a victim and take instant action.”

003-1

Shouta believes that Class 1-A would fall behind in the exam. The child tells Izuku that:

“The child tells Izuku that in addition to rescuing and providing relief, all authority and responsibility is on his shoulders and must smoothly act as the intermediary in rescue operations. In order to save lives, Heroes must be good at all sorts of things. The child questions Izuku’s tolerance towards the fear, pain and anxiety of the victims since he found Izuku’s first response to be terrible. The child’s advise reminds Izuku of what All Might does; telling the victims that everything is all right since he has arrived. Izuku gets back into focus and realizes that this exam isn’t a check point; everything he is doing is a part of chasing his dream to be a Hero.”

011-2

Izuku finally springs to action and check’s the child’s vital signs. He activates One For All Full Cowl, and takes the child to the first-aid station. Ochako realizes that her feels for Izuku is a distraction, and aims to focus more on being a hero. The chapter ends with a mysterious figure stepping on the disaster site. A very interesting chapter, I found the baby to be way to intelligent, considering his age. However, his advice was spot on and I think it has aided Izuku so far. I wonder if the Class 1-A will all pass this exam as well. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Chapter 841 – To the East Blue

It’s telling that I was surprised that Judge feed Sanji at all, certainly feeding him fancy food from person chef’s. Although, I would imagine that has more to due with the idea that no child of his would eat like a commoner. Sanji remembers cooking for his sick mother, he requested cooking tools and books.

002-1

Sanji horrible siblings discover he didn’t die, and beat him up in his cell. His sister doesn’t participate and help him heal afterwards. Reiji insists that she is not on his side, but continues to help him. She claims that her brothers are rendered incapable of sympathy due to their body modification, she is difference.

008-1

Reiji aids Sanji in his escape, while he is trying to leave his father catches him. Sanji pulls a knife out on him, and threatens to kill his father. Judge seems to like the fact that Sanji will flee and live elsewhere. Sanji escapes on a ship to the East Blue, in tears. Meanwhile, in the Seducing Woods, we find that a fat Luffy has been consuming the biscuit soldiers.

013-1

Luffy has taken to eating his soldiers and aims to exhausts Cracker. However, Cracker believes that Luffy will eventually suffer from all the eating. Considering the depressing story of Sanji’s childhood it is a relief to see some of the comedy this series is known for. I have found that the balance between the seriousness and humor is part of what makes this series so great. I’m happy that we seem to be returning to the present and Luffy.

Other schools have joined in on attacking U.A. You’s female classmate suggests that this strategy has backfired on him. You, said that they can now take advantage of the chaos.

0021-2

Katsuki, Eijirou and Denki pass, bring the total number of students to 82. Denki spots Izuku and the others, and cheerfully greets them. Katsuki kinda congratulates Izuku for passing. Inside the waiting room, Shouto, tells Izuku that 11 of their classmates have pass. However, 9 are still remaining, with 18 open spots left. Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Tenya and Yuuga face several enemies at once.

Tenya rescues Yuuga from a bullet. I a flashback, Yuuga recalls meeting up with Tenya, and deciding that they will team up. In the present, 8 more attendees pass, leaving only 10 places remaining. Ms. Joke is certain that her class are the ones that pass, and she is correct. Shouto is concerned that his students may not all pass. During battle Tenya decides to sacrifice himself, using his Navel Laser as a distraction.

004-1

He plans on attracting the other combatants to him, allowing Tenya to use his speed to get to their targets. Kouji uses his Quirk to call doves, to conceal the battlefield. Fumikage, Minoru, Mashirao, Tooru, and Mina all arrive and work together to take advantage of the situation. They all, including Tenya and Yuuga, manage to pass. This brings the number of students that passed to 100, ending the exam.

This exam was tied up a little too neatly. A perfect 100 students pass and all the U.A. students do as well. I guess it’s too much to ask for some of the U.A. students to fail, but we could have been given more to worry about. Regardless, I expected this to occur. What the next exam appears to be is a rescue mission. I wonder how Katsuki will handle that.

Chapter 840 – Iron Mask

Yonji tells Sanji about the Germa 66 soldiers. They are kept in bottle shape tanks, in a cultural fluid. Yonji says that “humans can be manufactured.” He claims that Germa has been known for it’s scientific research. He reveals that their father worked directly with Vegapunk. Yonji explains that together they discovered the “lineage factor.” They basically found the “blue print for life itself.”

003-2

These soldiers are called, clone pawns. The are obedient and considered replaceable. Sanji gets annoyed and takes a smoke break. Ichiji and Niji interrupt, quickly going into mocking Sanji. Sanji becomes enraged and kicks Niji in the face. He shocks his siblings, but Ichiji reminds him that Zell is endanger. Niji grabs Sanji from behind and uses Henry Needle, striking him in the back.

007-3

Ichiji reminds Sanji that he is a “failure.” Sanji flashes back to his childhood. We learn that Sanji’s siblings are scientifically advanced. His siblings are simply better at every measure and Sanji is considered a normal human. His father is disappointed at this news, and after consideration, decides to hold a “funeral” for Sanji. His siblings are actually happy that Sanji is “dead.” However, Sanji is actually imprisoned in the dungeon, in an iron mask. He is devastated when he is informed that his father put him there.

014-1

At this point, it goes without saying that Sanji’s family is horrible, except his sister. His family continues to come across as being worst and worst. Their abuse and cruelty is stunning, with their disregard for the lives of others becoming clear. It’s hard to see how Sanji escapes this predicament. I will say that I think his sister will become a more active help at some point in the arc. Even though we know that Sanji escapes, I’m curious how it happens.

Denki attacks Seiji with projectiles. Seiji dodges without much effort. Meanwhile, Seiji secretly sends one of his projectiles underneath the bridge. When Katsuki attacks the projectile manages to touch him from behind. Katsuki get’s balled up in a mass of flesh.

05-13

Denki and Seiji face off. Denki throws one of Katsuki’s grande’s at Seiji. It explodes behind him, leaving an opening for Denki. He uses his Quirk and hits Seiji with electricity. He goes into detail about the limitation of his powers. He explains that a new equipment was invented to fix this. He reveals that Katsuki was actually trying to avoid his classmates during the fight. Denki forcibly tells Seiji to stop “dissing his mates.”

09-7

Without warning, Katsuki and Eijirou attack Seiji. The other students that were trapped in balls of flesh are released. Meanwhile, Izuku, Hanta and Ochako are still in the middle of battle. Hanta and Ochako have combined the Quirks, trapping the other students. Mera announces that 72 more students have past. Izuku, Hanta and Ochako succeed in hitting their targets. Mera notes that despite the fact that the other schools deliberately targeted U.A., Class 1-A hasn’t seen one student eliminated.

111-1

The remaining members of Class 1-A are teaming up together. With the first exam nearing its end, Mera prepares for the second. The team of heroes that will be the obstacle for the second exam, features the elderly and children. Some of the Quirks in this series takes some getting use to. Seiji use of his own flesh is a clear example of this. One of the differences between the strange Quirks in My Hero Academia and the Devil Fruits of One Piece is the general tone of the series.

13-12

My Hero Academia is a little more serious than One Piece. While, both feature abilities that you couldn’t imagine being very strong. I think so far One Piece has manage to make each ability more dynamic. Anyway, Class 1-A so far is exceeding the low expectations of the other schools. It seems clear that they will all past at this point. I’m glad that it appears that despite his personally, Katsuki is actually trying to be a good hero. Finally, the odd team of senior citizens and infants is very curious. Clearly, they will be very strong. However, I’m wonder why they are fighting and how the will stack up against Class 1-A.

Chapter 839 – I Shall Never Forget the Debt That I Owe You

If Oda is trying to get the audience to dislike the Vinsmoke family he’s doing a great job. Who am I kidding he’s definitely doing that. The Vinsmoke prove how vile they are (except Sanji off course). While, eating breakfast Niji refuses to finish eating the meal that was prepared for him. He claims it was unappetizing. Sanji chastises him for being and ungrateful, spoiled brat.

02-03-2

Niji calls the head chef, to account for ruining his appetite. The head chef Cosette apologizes. Niji orders her to remain still, so he can hit her in the face with a plate. He hurls the plate at her, but Sanji catches it. He is understandably outraged at his siblings behavior. Niji believes that she’s “just a servant,” and doesn’t really deserve respect. Sanji begins cleaning up the mess, then he eats the potato of the floor.

05-12

His sibling’s are disgusted and Niji attacks him for what he considers repulsive behavior. Sanji admonishes his family for their terrible behavior. His family is unmoved by his criticism. They actually suggest that he is the one that’s behaving in an unacceptable fashion. Sanji’s father reveals an image of Zell and wonders out loud if he’s responsible for Sanji’s behavior. He warns Sanji that Zell will be killed if he steps out of line.

10-12

To make matters worse, Cosette is found by Sanji. She’s beaten to the point of unconsciousness. Yonji appears and suggests that this is Sanji’s point for sticking up for the help. He then leads a angry Sanji into a room full Germa 66 soldiers in large containers. It goes without saying that Sanji’s family is the worst. Their cruelty and disregard for others is unacceptable.

15-8

That said Big Mom’s family isn’t any better. I can’t imagine that the Strawhat’s alone can succeed in defeating the Big Mom pirates and Germa 66. Finally, Sanji is thoroughly trapped. With his wrist being rigged to explode and Zell under watch, even if Luffy gets to him I can’t imagine how they will escape.

Class 1-A

Mera states that 53 examinees have past and another 210 have been eliminated. Shouto Todoroki is the 54th examinee to past, he isn’t happy about his performance. Shouto proceeds to the waiting room. Izuku continues to battle against the Shiketsu High female student. She muses about whether Izuku will save anyone or does he have limits. She attacks him cutting his face, however, she and Izuku are separated by tape.

14-12

Hanta uses his tape ability to stop her from attacking Izuku. Ochako attacks the female student, her speed is too great and Ochako misses. The female student is disappointed that she can no longer fight Izuku one on one. She leaves and Izuku tells Ochako and Hanta no to pursue. He deduces that her Quirk only works when she is naked and she is no longer a threat.

Four more of the examinees past as, Hanta, Ochako and Izuku plan their next move. Izuku is cleaver in concluding that many students team up and attack smaller group. The problem is that they betray each other when the final target needs to be hit. Hanta wonders why he wants to get the entire class together.

112-1

Izuku explains that “that working together is the best option because they don’t have knowledge on their opponents’ Quirks and they are short on time. Izuku decides that they should first figure out the number of examinees they need to pass and then immobilize them; after they are immobilized, they will will hit their targets with their balls.” Ochako hears someone coming, Izuku goes to check.

Katsuki and Denki confront a Shiketsu High male he turned Eijirou into a “molded pile.” This guy rambles about how superior he is, Denki and Katsuki are unimpressed. This student shows his Quirk by molding five fingers out of thin air. He attacks Katsuki, who prepares. Meanwhile, Ms. Joke and Shouta are having a conversation regarding their students. Shouta says that he’s not worried that about his students, because Katsuki and Izuku are inspirations.

07-10

I’m impressed by Izuku’s analytical skills. Often characters aren’t both smart and powerful. One concerning aspect of this exam is that the Class A is expected to pass. It seems to me that, while I expect them to all pass, it’s is highly improbable that they would. That said, I think that Izuku plan would be difficult to pull off. How is he going to get into contact with his classmates. There are far too many moving parts, but maybe I’m going to be wrong.

However, someone with a web that comes from the ground. Izuku is surrounded by other classes and uses his ability to evade them. Ochaku and Izuku reunite. Izuku uses his iron shoes to escape the other students with Ochaku. While hiding with Ochaku is distracted, when she attempts to attach a ball to him. Izuku reveal to her that he never fell for the deception.

16 (8)

He tells her that the real Ochaku would be able to float and that she would also have a plan. The impostor begins to dissolve the “Ochaku,” disguise. The impostor reveals that she was the female student Izuku fought earlier. She finds him interesting and wants him to tell her about himself. This chapter was really good. I find the female student that Izuku is facing to be strange, even before the shape-shifting. I’m also concerned that Ochaku was defeated. Regardless, I think this chapter introduced a potentially good fight.

Chapter 838

Choniki

I appears that the name Cracker is in reference to the fact that his ability is the Bisc Bisc no Mi. This allows him to generate and manipulate biscuits at will. It is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit. Cracker can shape the biscuits into realistic humanoid and use them to make them into shields. Luffy is further taunted by Cracker whom states that he won’t see Sanji again.

021 (4)

Meanwhile, Nami and Pound travel through the Seducing Woods. Nami flashes the vivre card, Lola gave her. Chopper and Carrot explore the mirror’s interior. Chopper decides that they could use the mirror to their advantage. Brooke and Pedro hid themselves within a biscuit solider and plan on waiting till it returns to to Whole Cake Chateau. The following day, Big Mom is receiving an update on wedding cake and Strawhat’s.

061

She is concerned with the Vinsmoke siblings and wedding cake. She is told that they have just arrived. Vinsmoke Ichiji and Vinsmoke Niji  arrive and Sanji watches in displeasure. The story is moving along nicely and the wedding seems close. The Strawhat’s are currently separated and I think Big Mom is underestimating them. Chopper and Carrot may be able to use the mirrors to get closer to Sanji. I have lost track of the number Vinsmoke siblings at this point and they look exactly alike.

10-111

I imagine that some of them will end up being cannon fodder for the Strawhat’s. Cracker’s abilities are kinda silly on it’s face, but Oda can make the weirdest and simplest abilities seem cool. Anyway, the biggest issue seems to be the battle between Luffy and Cracker. Luffy has already used Gear 4 and didn’t even manage to defeat Cracker. Luffy has a lot of stamina and heart but he doesn’t look like he can beat Cracker. However, Cracker mentioned that he “hates pain,” I imagine that if Luffy got a moderate hit on the no armored Cracker he’d lose easily.

Chapter 104

Climax! Each of our abilities

The preliminary round begins and the students begin to show their Quirks. A student from the Ketsubutsu Academy uses his abilities to harden the balls. He fellow classmate uses their ability to shoot the balls into the ground. Kyouka users her quirk called “Heartbeat,” shattering the ground. This results in the balls becoming more visible. Minoru is in danger of getting hit and he is saved by Mina.

051 (2)

Fumikage uses his new uses Black Ankh technique, its barley dodged by the student. The other classes are impressed by Class 1-A’s improved abilities. Izuku uses this opportunity to study the other quirks of the students. So far most of the students are on the defensive, resigned to guard their targets. They seem to be apprehensive about attacking. You Shindou that uses his quirk, Shake to ruin Class 1-A defense.

06 (11)

He follows it up with a special move called “Way of the Quaking Earth.” It shatter’s the ground, causing Class 1-A defense to fail. In other area’s of the arena the aftereffects of Shake is felt by the other students. A wind technique, swallows many of the students balls into a vortex. Inasa Yoarashi is the user and defeating 120 students instantly. Izuku is separated from the rest of his class, and is attacked by a female student. He prepares for battle.

09 (4)

The preliminary battle so far is enjoyable. I find it hard to believe that the wind technique from Inasa was accurate enough to hit 120 students targets. Anyway, the strategy involved in the preliminary round is interesting. If you attack you increase the chances that you’ll get hit. However, if you are too defensive you can get overwhelmed by stronger attacks like the ones from Inasa and Shindou.

Luffy vs Commander Cracker

Luffy and Commander Cracker face off. Cracker tells Luffy that his sword’s name is Pretzel. He claims that his sword knows no equal. Luffy being Luffy, charges head first into Cracker. He uses his Elephant Gun attack. It fails to do anything as Cracker blocks them with his shield. Cracker attacks Luffy with his several arms, overwhelming Luffy.

021bg

Using Busoshoku Haki embedded Pretzel, Cracker hits Luffy in the stomach send Luffy flying. Nami becomes concerned as Luffy isn’t looking too good. Brulee mocks Nami for her weakness, and she comments that the “Worst Generation,” has failed to even face Big Mom as her soldiers are more than enough. She acknowledges that Urouge, did manage to defeat one of the four commanders himself.

03 (15)

Brulee attacks Nami, but Pound interfere’s on her behalf. Freed, Nami attacks with Thunderbolt Tempo. Brulee disappears, but Pound is sure she’ll return. The Homies begin to flee as they are overwhelmed by the Strawhat’s. Luffy attacks with Hawk Gatling. Cracker is up to the task and blocks his attack. Luffy considers Cracker’s Haki to be the “strongest,” that he has even seen. Cracker enrages Luffy by suggesting that Sanji will reject him. Luffy activates Gear Fourth and delivers a devastating blow to Cracker.

091 (1)

Another, great One Piece chapter. This was mostly a fight between Luffy and Cracker. While, I enjoyed it the fight feels rushed. Basically, it’s one chapter and Luffy has already used Gear Fourth. I wonder if this fight will be short, but I can’t imagine it’s over. Feel’s like Luffy will make his presents known with this likely defeat of Cracker. The result being that Sanji will be made aware that his friends are coming.

Final Chapter (Death & Strawberry)

The final chapter officially ends a 15 year series that I have mostly enjoyed and I’m sad to see it end. With the ending of Bleach, it now joins Naruto as the second of the “Big Three.” This leaves One Piece as the final member left. Bleach has sold more than 84 million copies and is know for its art style. I initially had a hard time getting into the series. The first few chapters were slow. However, the art style drew me in and I began to like the series.

20 (3)

There wasn’t much to this chapter. Orihime and Ichigo get married and have child Kazui Kurosaki and so do Renji and Rukia. Their daughter, Ichika Abarai arrives and introduces herself to Kazui. He surprises her, when he shows her that he is also a shinigami. I wonder what abilities, Kazui has considering his mother unique abilities. Overall, I greatly enjoyed the series and while the ending disappointed me I’m glad to have read the series. Thank you, Kubo.

The Exam

Hanta expresses his confusion regarding Inasa reasoning behind not enrolling in U.A. A female teacher arrives and makes jokes with “Erasing Hero.” Her name is “Smile Hero,” and her Quirk was is Roaring Laughter. Her Quirk forces her opponents to laugh against their will, messing with them from a cognitive and motor skills. Ms. Joke asks Shouta “if he told his class about something that happens every year at the Provisional Hero License Exam; Shouta replies he hasn’t.”

15 (6)

Meanwhile, “Mera of the Hero Public Safety Commission,” introduces himself and explains what the Provisional Hero License Exam entails. He tells the students that “only 100 of them will participate in the Provisional Hero License Exam.” He tells them “that they will first compete in a preliminary round to determine the 100 then compete in the Provisional Hero License Exam.” The preliminary round is designed to test the speed of the students.”

16 (7)

In the preliminary round, every student “will take three targets and paste them somewhere on their bodies where others can see, except their feet and armpits.” Each student is given six balls and is expected to use them to hit targets. These targets will light up when it is hit, once three are lit, the student is considered as lost and disqualified. Only the third target will matter, meaning that whom ever lights up the final of three targets gets the credit. Each student will need to get two people each to pass. So far the start to the exam has been interesting and I’m excited.

Chapter 836

The Vivre Card Lola Gave

Nami remembers Lola and is surprised who her father is. The giant tells Charlotte Cracker to let him go and that he wants to see his daughters, Lola and Chiffon. Nami realizes that while at Thriller Bark, she was given a vivre card for Big Mom, from Lola. Randolph interrupts riding on a crane.

Cracker states that Big Mom sent him to take care of Luffy. Brulee arrives on a enormous tree named King Baum. Baum states that “no one they have targeted has emerged from the Seducing Woods alive.” Brulee shows Luffy that Chopper and Carrot are trapped in her mirror. She drops the mirror, shattering it with Chopper and Carrot appearing unharmed.

041 (2)

Cracker begins to attack the giant, he responds by saying “he could be his father, but Cracker says that he, like Big Mom, considered her 43 husbands as outsiders to the family.” Cracker attempts to decapitate him with a sword. Luffy, blocks the sword and forces him to let go of the giant. The giant reveals that his name is Pound and he and Nami flee. Nami pulls out the vivre card. it begins to glow, scaring the homies. The homies can’t “oppose Nami due to feeling Big Mom’s powerful soul around her.” Luffy is knocked into a tree homie by Cracker. Cracker uses his devil fruit ability to increase his number of limbs. Nami tells Luffy that they don’t have the time to “go all out, but Luffy replies that he knows no other way of fighting.

07 (7)

Another good chapter. We learned that Cracker was sent to defeat Luffy by Big Mom. Cracker’s bounty is revealed to be 860,000,000 Beli and his Devil Fruit ability allows him to multiply his limbs. I think the battle between, Luffy and Cracker should be good. I think the biggest concern is the broken mirror. I can only assume that Brulee can create more and somehow they will escape.

A Perfect End

Bleach will official end in the next chapter (686) and apparently it’s will be accompanied by an announcement. Hopefully, the announcement will be good, because the end of this series was a MAJOR disappointment. The fight between Yhwach and Ichigo was just poorly executed. The use of an convenient arrow to “stop” the unstoppable Yhwach was clearly a way to defeat a character that Kubo made too powerful to begin with.

Ichigo’s “new” Bankai was completely useless, Aizen didn’t get to even use his. It is painfully obvious to me that Kubo was just phoning in his finally chapters. It felt rushed and there was a lot of loose ends that should have been answered. Overall, this chapter and the ending arc was disappointing. Although, I’m glad that Rukia became captain, guess that’s something.

Chapter 102

Hovering Thoughts

Izuku explains his Full Cowl technique to Mei. He said that the technique was conceived “from Gran Torino and Kacchan.” He says it uses “fine nimble movements,” that allows for better movement. His costume will add spikes to support his arms and iron armor soles. Izuku elaborates further and explains that it’s “more of a stop gap,” than a special move. All Might disagrees and suggests that it’s more effective than a stop gap.”

02 (11)

Eijirou, Denki’s, Shouto, Kyouka, and Kouda upgrade their hero costumes as well. Class B arrives and one of the students Neito Monoma suggests that no one from Class A will pass the “provisional license exam.” Blood King states that “the Provisional Hero Provisional Exam is conducted every year in June and September at three different locations across the country.”

04 (8)

Neito is disappointed that “he won’t be able to bring down Class 1-A himself,” causing Eijirou and Denki to wonder if something is wrong with him. The female students gather together and discuss their special moves. Tsuyu and Momo have ‘special moves in mind and need a bit more training to pull it off.” We fast forward to the day of the exams. Class A is introduced to some more students as they prepare to enter.

06 (7)

I think Izuku’s Full Cowl has a lot of potential. I don’t know if he’ll even have any use for his arms. All Might having to accept that he is now in need of protection was humbling. I interested in seeing what this exam is like and what abilities the other students have developed. Overall, another good chapter.

Chapter 835

The Nation of Souls

We start in Chocolate Town were the citizens of Totto Land are asked a question, Leave or Life? When they choose life they, a strange black creature removes a round piece from their bodies. In the Seducing Woods, Luffy is confused by all the Nami, Choppers, Carrots, Sanji, and Purins clones. The real Nami appears and tells Luffy about their encounter with Charlotte Brulee.

007 (1)

Brulee uses the devil fruit ability, Mira Mira no Mi. The Devil fruit gives Brulee, that “gives her the ability to reflect back anything she wants.” Carrot attacks and is “reflected,” then she attacks again and is absorbed. Brulee tells her “not to worry, as she doesn’t plan on killing them, and asks if they realize the situation they are in.” She tells them that “Big Mom is well aware of their presence in her territory.”

009 (2)

In fact, “Big Mom ordered them to follow them.” They were ordered to keep them away from meeting with Sanji, and to “make them aware of what happens when they defy Big Mom.” Chopper tells Nami to find Luffy, he uses his abilities much to Brulee pleasure. Luffy calls it “absolutely crazy and asks where Chopper and Carrot are.” Nami says “it all happened right where they were standing, but there is no trace of them now.” She accuses the giant of being a henchmen for Big Mom.

011 (3)

The giant offers to explain why they don’t attack. The giant explains “that every six months, each citizen is required to give a month’s worth of their lifespan, in the form of their soul, to the country in exchange for protection.” He explains “that Big Mom ate the Soru Soru no Mi, giving her the ability to control souls.” She takes the pieces of soul are then spread throughout the islands. They then inhabit nearby objects, giving them some sentience. These objects are called “homies”.

019 (1)

The giant explains that he was the former husband of Big Mom. After giving her two daughters, she dumped him. Charlotte Cracker, the 10th son in the family, the giant begs to see his daughter again and “congratulate her on her marriage.” He mentions that “Lola ran away,” surprising Nami. This chapter was great. The cruelty of Big Mom becomes more and more apparent. Her abilities are very interesting. I think the “homies” are actually creepy. I effect the friendship between, Nami and Lola will have during this arc. Things don’t look good for the Strawhat’s or the giant.

The Dark side of two worlds ends

Yhwach destroys part of Sokyoku Hill, he questions why Ichigo didn’t have Orihime heal him. Renji attacks him and activates his Bankai, Sou Zabimaru. Yhwach quickly severs his arm and destroys his Bankai. Aizen appears, attacking with Kyoka Suigetsu intervening. Yhwach teases him for fighting for the “losers.” Aizen uses Hado #99, Goryutenmetsu. A large dragon destroys the ground surrounding them, he them rushes forward.

07 (4)

Yhwach points out that Aizen sword is cracked, then sends him flying backward with an energy blast. Ichigo appears behind him and Yhwach blows his arm off and single handily stops his Zanpakuto. He notes that even Aizen was ineffective. He shatters Tensa Zangetsu and blows a hole into Ichigo’s chest. However, it appear that this was an illusion and Aizen made it appear that he was Ichigo.

14 (5)

Aizen is interested in this development, considering the fact that Yhwach was so certain that he wasn’t susceptible to the effects of Suigetsu. Ichigo impales Yhwach from behind and uses a powerful, Getsuga Tensho. This chapter was all about Aizen, fans have been anticipating an Aizen, Yhwach clash. Unlike most of the Shinigami, I believed that Aizen would be a challenge for Yhwach. This fight is already more interesting than Ichigo initial fight with Yhwach.

Special Moves

Class 1-A are excited about getting to create their own special moves. Cementoss explains that the Gamma Gym was created by him and he can use his Quirk to alter the gym to fit the needs of the students. Shouta explains the need for special moves. He explains that the “Hero License Exam,” is designed to test the “aptitudes” in “intel gathering, judgement, mobility, leadership and communication.” However, fighting ability is the most important.

08 (4)

Midnight gives an example of a special move, like Kamui Woods, Lacquered Chains Prison. Shouta decides that during the summer break the students will spent developing there Quirks and special moves. He suggests that they update their costumes to accommodate their new abilities. Cementoss prepares the gym and Ectoplasm clones himself to spar against the students. Izuku is confused, he’s unsure what his special ability should be.

101 (1)

He decides that he will focus on his costume, instead of his special move. He thinks that he could upgrade his costume to protect his arms. Tenya and Ochako head to the development studio. Ochako wants to improve her ability to help her with her floating ability so that she could be more effective in hand to hand combat. Meanwhile, decided that she wants to minimize the effect of his, Recipro Burst. An explosion from the development studio sends Izuku flying. Mei Hatsume is responsible. She lands on top of him, surprising Izuku.

111

I’ll be interested to see what special moves the students come up with. It appears that Izuku will always have difficulty with his Quirk. I still believe that Katsuki will become a bad guy or anti-hero eventually. I also happy to see new costumes because the old ones weren’t that good.

Vinsmoke Judge

In the Germa Kingdom, several Germa 66 agents are excited to see Sanji and Jajji fight. Yonji tells an engineer that he “told Sanji off and he attacked him leaving a dent in his head.”The engineer uses his “press machine,” to fix Yonji’s face. The Germa 66 agents are surprised by Sanji’s strength. Sanji kicks at Jajji, who blocks the attack. Jajji uses his lightning spear to attack Sanji. He states that the only reason he return was to protect his crew.

08 (5)

Jajji tells him that reneging on their pact with Big Mom, will cause her to seek vengeance. Sanji recalls his troubled childhood. He remembers the abuse he received at the hands of his brothers and his father indifference to it. In the present Jajji attacks Sanji with his spear. Sanji blocks it with his, Busoshoku Haki. This surprises Jajji and the Germa 66. Jajji leaps up and Sanji counters with Diable Jambe.

13 (6)

Jajji blocks and grabs Sanji. He slams him to the ground and kicks Sanji with his electrified foot. He uses his shoe blaster against Sanji. Sanji uses Diable Jambe again, as Jajji commands his men to create a wall to block it. Sanji hesitates and Jajji takes advantage of the situation, piercing his agents body sending Sanji flying backward. Reiju aids Sanji, healing his wounds. Jajji tells him that the Germa 66 would give up their lives for him.

16 (6)

Jajji explains that the alliance with Big Mom, is a guarantee of  their conquest of the North Blue. He reveals that he doesn’t want to lose his most “precious sons,” and he rather sacrifice Sanji. While distracted, Sanji is trapped by Reiju. She places a “World Noble,” collar on his wrists to prevent him from escaping. This chapter of One Piece was well done. I was shocked to see that Sanji has learned Haki. His relationship with his family seemed obviously due to childhood abuse. I wonder if Sanji will sacrifice his hands for his freedom. I don’t think Luffy will allow it.

05 (5)

Meanwhile, we shift to Haschwalth verses Uryu. He reveals his Schrift is “The Balance.” This ability “allows him to distribute misfortune to the fortunate and redirect all misfortune that would occur to him into his Freund Schild, a shield on his arm.” Uryu asks Haschwalth “if he wants to see his Schrift.” Haschwalth assumes that Uryu would have used his Schrift by now, if it would have won him the battle. Uryu reveals it’s name as “The Antithesis.” His wounds disappear and reappear on Haschwalth.

08 (1)

He explains his ability, “to reverse something that has already happened between two targets, such as damage inflicted.” Haschwalth surprisingly says that his ability “may be the only power capable of stopping Yhwach.” Uryu is shocked, he wants to know “if this has something to do with the true power of The Almighty. Uryu attempts to leave the area. Haschwalth uses “The Balance” to reverse the damage Uryu sent back to him earlier. He notes that his ability is a poor match up for Uryu.

Yhwach drops him, then claims “that all Ichigo accomplished was providing him with some entertainment before preparing to take back the power he had given to Ichigo.”  So far this fight is underwhelming. It’s clear that Ichigo is going to be “saved.” I am going to assume his father saves him and Uryu’s father does the same for his son. He Who Gets Bet On

Jinbe informs the Sun Pirates that he wants to “join the Straw Hat Pirates because he believed Luffy would become Pirate King and bring peace to Fishman Island.” Much to his surprise and pleasure he receives an unanimous, yes. The Fishmen, however are concerned with Big Mom’s reaction. Fellow fishman Aladine, is slated to be married to Charlotte Praline, the 29th daughter of the Charlotte Family.

0021 (1)

She yells at him assuming he would abandon her. Jinbe asked Praline “if they would incur Big Mom’s wrath by leaving, and she replied that nobody who has tried to leave has survived.” Presently, Big Mom talks to Jinbe about his cutting ties with her, she says “that she will lose a valuable and powerful resource, so it is only right that Jinbe loses something as well.” A roulette wheel is spun, featuring images of “arms, legs, heads, and crowns on the slots.”

005 (1)

Luffy and the others wait for daylight on “a solid sea of sweet syrup.” Pedro says “that the sea will start flowing again at daybreak but has frozen for the night, and the team tries to unfreeze it.” Carrot reveals that Pedro “was once a pirate with Pekoms,” although Pedro says “he only accompanied Pekoms halfway.” Pedro said that they were on a mission to find poneglyphs for Nekomamushi. Pedro states that “he had heard Nekomamushi and Inuarashi showed the Straw Hats the Road Poneglyph on Zou, which surprised him, as they had not shown it to strangers since 26 years ago when they showed it to the Roger Pirates.”

0101

Pedro fells that this shows that Nekomamushi and Inuarashi have faith in the Straw Hats. He tells them “that Big Mom’s Road Poneglyph will be useful to them after they defeat Kaido, thus they should steal it while they are here.” He asks Luffy to “buy him time to sneak in and steal it while they rescue Sanji,” Luffy agrees. The following morning the crew arrive at Whole Cake Island. Nami intends to go past the security, and Luffy sees someone standing on the coast. This chapter was exciting mainly because the prospect of Jinbe joining the Straw Hat crew. This feels right and I hope it actual happens. Clearly, Jinbe might lose a limb to do it. I think that he will be willing to do so.

The Hero Billboard Chart JP, (a chart that tabulates the rankings of Pro Heroes in Japan twice per year). They announce that “All Might’s true form has had Japan and even the Hero Headquarters in America are in an uproar.” They also announce that All Might will be retiring. Best Jeanist, the Number Four Hero, is taking a sabbatical from Hero duties. The Number 32 Hero, Ragdoll Quirk was stolen, altered and is now considered to be “unfit for duty and thus her Pro Hero career has been put on hold indefinitely.”

003 (1)

At U.A, Mr Principal thanks All Might for defeating All For One. He points out “that since All Might is no longer able to fight, the parents’ of the U.A students as well as society are anxious and worried about the safety of the children.” Mr Principal and Blood King will visit “the parents of Class 1-B while Shouta and All Might will visit the parents of Class 1-A as part of the plan.” He plans on changing U.A to a boarding school.

0061

Shouta and All Might visit Kyouka Jirou’s house, Mr Jirou is concerned about “his daughter being put in harm’s way under U.A’s supervision and isn’t too fond of sending her daughter to U.A’s dormitories. Shouta admits that U.A has been negligent in their duties and vows to correct them as well as raise Kyouka into a fine Hero.” Kyouka, reveals that tells her father has “already agreed to the relocation of the students after seeing All Might’s fight with All For One, happy that her daughter will grow into a powerful Hero like All Might.”

009 (1)

Shouta and All Might then visit the home of Katsuki Bakugou. His mother agrees to the U.A’ students’ relocation, they begin arguing with each other while his father tries to calm them down. Katsuki’s mother notes that “Katsuki’s rashness along with his gifted abilities, has resulted in him being pampered and getting shallow praise for what he has which has resulted in his arrogant nature.”However, his mother is happy that “Shouta sees her son for who he is instead of his gifted abilities.” As they leave the Bakugou household, Katsuki asks All Might “what Izuku is to him.” All Might lies, telling Katsuki that “Izuku is a student to him who has great potential just like Katsuki.” Katsuki doesn’t seems satisfied but goes inside and thanks All Might.

011 (2)

All Might visit’s Izuku’s home alone. This leaves Shouta to visits the rest of Class. All Might talks to Izuku and his mother. He asks Izuku’s mother for her permission to send Izuku to the U.A dorms. However, she is against it. She explains that “she is worried about her son since his Quirk damages him rather than helps him and is deeply concerned about her son’s future as a Pro Hero after witnessing All Might’s brutal battle, unable to bear the fact that Izuku will also have to face such bloody battles with no hope possibility of full recovery. Inko states that she has no confidence in U.A and is unable to entrust her son to them.”

0161

I think that Katsuki is jealous of Izuku relationship with All Might, and this might become a larger problem. He may even become a villain or anti-hero as a result. It was surprising that Izuku mother refused to allow him to attend. Although, lets be honest All Might will end up training him anyway. However, his mother has a point. If his Quirk damages him, how can he have more taxing battles and be alright. It’s a question that I will be interested in hearing the answer to.

However, he seems to be unimpressed by this power. Ichigo realizes that he’s being underestimated. He concludes that this is his chance to strike.

Yhwach decides that he cannot afford to waste time playing with Ichigo. He beings using his ability, The Almighty. While they clash, Ichigo stumbles onto a series of traps set by Yhwach. Ichigo searches for a opening in his “Almighty” ability. Yhwach tells Ichigo that he made a “miscalculation.”

01

He explains in his ability further. He says that “the future diverges in countless directions from a given point in time like grains of sand in the wind and that there are as many possibilities as there are grains of sand before stating that changing the future is as simple as moving from one grain of sand to the next. Declaring that he can see all the grains of sand from where he stands, Yhwach tells Ichigo to keep pushing forward and moving between grains of sand without despairing.” Ichigo with his back against the wall, uses Bankai.

04 (4)

I feel like this fight has been accelerated. Not much has happened in the last few chapters. For Ichigo to use Bankai so quickly is daunting. Kubo probably will shift to the other fights currently going on, before concluding this one. As I mentioned before there are still several characters still alive to help Ichigo. He clearly needs aid. That said I’m excited to see what his Bankai looks like. I always found that his previous Bankai wasn’t interesting, hopefully this one will be better.
