My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 8: “Two Flashfires”

At the police station, Doctor Kyudai Garaki observes the diminished number of guards and asks if the big day has finally arrived. He remarks to the lone officer that in preparation for this moment, they had sought out the “twisted raw material” born into the world—warped seeds worthy of being vessels.

Eleven years ago at Sekoto Peak, Toya, engulfed in flames, desperately thought about how he didn’t want to die and how he still hadn’t proven himself to his father. In a frantic attempt to survive, he jumped into a lake to extinguish the fire. In the present, Kyudai reflects on Toya, describing him as “the boy born with everything” but also born with cracks. Meanwhile, in the past, Toya’s charred body is recovered by All For One.

All For One tries to manipulate Toya

After waking up. Toya learns he’s been “unresponsive,” for three years. He wants to get back to his family but the overseer tells him that he can’t because their “family.” All For One tries to manipulate hi further, telling Toya that he need to wait until he was at full power. This doesn’t work and Toya returns to see his family. Kyudai tells the officer that Toya couldn’t have been exploited over his obsession with his father.

Kyudai says they regarded Toya as a failed experiment. They had collect “spares,” incase Tomura didn’t work out. Kyudai and All For One assumed Toya would die within the month but Kyudai was surprised to learn that he survived due to holding a grudge.

Dabi is born

Unfortunately, we Toya returned home he saw not much has changed. Endeavor continued to abuse Shoto. He was reminded of his purpose as a “failed experiment,” and accept that his family had “left him behind.” Enraged, Toya continued to practice, focusing on “honing,” his flames. It’s at this point Toya claimed “Dabi” was born.

Dabi laughs and thanks Shoto for the chat, saying he’ll make for some fine kindling even without their dad around. Shoto focuses on controlling his fire and ice, noting how Dabi’s ramping up his temperature even faster, without hesitation. Shoto responds that he’ll be the one to stop him.

Shoto’s Ultimate Move

Dabi then shares his thoughts on Shoto. After boosting his weakened flame, Dabi recalls Endeavor’s encouraging words. The numbing of his body stripped away his limitations, allowing him to push his limits. He asks Shoto if he’s a fan of All Might, then unleashes Flashfire Fist: Hell Spider, sending a wide array of fire spirals from the tornado. The Heroes try to evade, recognizing it as one of Endeavor’s moves. Ingenium notices the flames are thicker and more erratic, causing him to worry about Shoto.

Shoto recall being accepted by his friends and how it made him feel welcomed. He combines his ice and fire abilities to manifest his Ultimate Move: Great Glacial Aegir. Freezing Dabi and the surrounding area.
