My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 7: “Inflation”

The heroes cannot understand how Tomura is still able to transform his body while Phantom Thief is using Erasure. Tomura clarifies that it’s simply his “growth.” Like his hair or nails, his body must adapt to his ever-evolving Quirks, moving towards the next step of their superhuman society: Doctor Kyudai Garaki’s Quirk Singularity.

“Tomura” mocks the Heroes for sweeping everything under the rug, blind to the inevitable future. With her robot arm and leg destroyed, Mirko calls for spares, which arrive from below the battlefield. She and Dynamight start arguing until Best Jeanist tells them to focus. Phantom Thief begins to worry, despite following all of Eraser Head’s teachings. Mandalay informs Eraser Head they’ve contacted Deku, who says Himiko Toga snagged him and brought him to Okuto Island. He asks to be warped back, but the fighting interrupts the conversation.

The Heroes realize they can’t warp Deku because Phantom Thief can’t use two Quirks simultaneously. Activating Warp Gate again would need at least ten seconds without Erasure. They understand that the moment Erasure stops, “Tomura” can use Decay through his endlessly growing fingers, which would finish them all. Eraser Head tells Deku he has to make it back on his own. Until then, they declare that they will beat “Tomura” here and now, even without One For All.

I want you to be my boyfriend

Himiko Toga admits to “liking,” Deku, who can’t imagine that she actually liked him. Despite everything that’s happened, he’s still just a “damned nerd.” Deku freaks out, asking what she’s talking about. Himiko confesses she’s felt this way ever since they first met, since he was so beaten up and looked exactly like her first crush. Her face twists as she says she wants to suck his blood and become him. Deku stammers, asking if being a couple means doing things like going on dates and holding hands. Himiko, with a dark smile, says that to her, being a couple means being one and the same.

She says that Deku and Uravity are just like her parents, believing that only Heroes and those they protect are real people, which is why they’re destined to be apart. Himiko charges at them with her knives and whips. Deku dodges while Uravity grabs her. Uravity says she’s been thinking about her since that day. Himiko claims she doesn’t think about them anymore and is done with them; if the world rejected her, she can reject it too. Uravity gets distracted by some whips coming from behind, and Himiko stabs her in the back, saying she’s sad because they both felt the same way about the same boy.

Deku grabs Himiko with Blackwhip, and Froppy pushes her further away. Uravity says she only got a grazed cut but stresses they need to get the knife back since her blood is on it. Froppy mentions that sending Himiko to Okuto Island would’ve been the right call, even though the plan backfired. She then tells Deku to leave, saying it’s not the place to talk about romance and to rely on Uravity, who has the most experience with Himiko. Uravity urges him to deal with Tomura, remembering their earlier conversation. As Himiko starts to get up, saying how hard it is to live full of love, Uravity yells at Deku to run, and he speeds away.

Dabi vs Shoto

Meanwhile, in Kamino Ward, Dabi engulfs everyone in a fire tornado, alongside a Near High-End Nomu, cutting down the Heroes. He thinks back to the Hosu Incident, remembering how that battle pushed him to act. Ingenium stands outside the fire, noting the intense heat and realizing he can’t get any closer without risking his Engine overheating.

Inside the inferno, Dabi faces off against Shoto, Burnin, Kido, and Onima. He scoffs at Endeavor, saying he couldn’t face him himself and sent his son and three sidekicks instead. Onima warns Kido to stay back, as the heat is too much for him. Kido replies that he’s been redirecting the air around him with his Quirk and, just like always, he’ll keep following his leader’s orders because he wants to. Burnin chimes in, saying that despite his family issues, Endeavor always got the job done. Now that he’s entrusted them to Shoto, they have his full support.

Shoto declares he’s not there because someone ordered him, but because he wants to be the one to stop him. Dabi retorts that this still makes him their dad’s pawn, but Shoto counters that ignoring him and trying to be a hero would make that true. Dabi then shifts the focus, saying this war is about the people involved—not mindless soldiers, but those who want to change or destroy the world, fighting for their feelings and exposing the limits of their super-powered society. Shoto asks why Dabi, if he was alive all this time, never came back home. As his rotting flesh emerges, Dabi, stating that as his older brother, he’ll explain how he became Dabi, why he’s still alive, and how his flames even surpassed their father’s “masterpiece.”
