Saul runs over to the sleepwalking children and tries to wake them up while Robin warns him to be careful, reminding him that Wolf told him “not to touch the children.” Saul says “he does not see anything wrong with them” and reaches for Ylva, but when he touches her, he gets stabbed by invisible thorns surrounding her. Ange contacts the partying giants and tells them about the strange situation and that the sleepwalking children are following Branch Route 8, which is where the fire Loki started is. The fire-fighting Svarr immediately mobilizes to stop the fire, but on their way they are attacked by one of the nightmares and knocked out of the sky, shocking everyone.
While the Knights of God enjoy a meal and watch the chaos, Sommers laughs about how shocked the giants were when they were stabbed by the invisible thorns he created. He reveals that he ate the Iba Iba no Mi, which allows him to generate the thorns. Sommers describes them as a “representation” of the phrase “even love has its thorns,” but Gunko shows no interest. Sommers explains that love is what will draw people toward someone despite the thorns surrounding them. The best part of the game for him is imagining the parents trying to hug their children, only to be stabbed by his thorns while the children cry as they watch their parents scream in agony. Gunko, however, remains indifferent, much to Sommers’ frustration.
The Knights of God’s mission
Killingham asks Gunko which route she chose and she explains that she picked the one that leads directly to the village’s sea clouds. Sommers adds that the route stands out enough for the giants to see how pointless it is to stop them. Killingham then tells Sommers that he needs more salt, causing Sommers to imagine it. Killingham puts Sommers to sleep and extracts the salt from his dream. He reveals that he ate the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, which allows him to transform into the mythical creature and manifest people’s dreams, explaining the monsters that suddenly appeared.
Sommers wakes up and asks about the “Sleeptids” he extracted from the children’s minds, but Killingham explains that he can do both at the same time. Gunko then says all they need to do is take one of the giant’s ships back to Mary Geoise and their mission will be complete. Sommers complains about how easy the game is. Gunko tells him that trouble will definitely come since the Straw Hats are also in Elbaph. The three then notice the children heading toward the fire, but they decide that if the children burn to death, they can simply find more children.
Luffy knocks out Loki
In the Underworld, Loki tells Hajrudin that he cannot stop him since he cannot even lift Ragnir himself. He once again orders the last cuff to be undone before he kills all of the weaklings in the Sun World. Hajrudin agrees to stand down but Zoro warns him not to as Luffy prepares to attack Loki. Luffy knocks Loki down with a rather weak attack because of his injuries. After Loki collapses, Luffy and Zoro climb his body as Zoro realizes that Loki was bluffing the entire time so he could find somewhere to collapse safely in secret. As Road suspects who attacked Loki, Luffy begs Hajrudin not to let Loki die no matter what he has done.
Gerd starts treating Loki’s wounds and says it will take a few months for him to fully heal. She knows that if Loki is going to make a full recovery he cannot stay in the Underworld, but she also knows the people of the Sun World will kill him if he is taken there. Luffy is surprised to learn that the horns on Loki’s head are real. They explain that they are a remnant of his ancient giant blood, which he inherited from Harald. This makes Hajrudin think back to his childhood when Harald called both him and Loki his sons. Harald hoped they would work together to support Elbaph after he died.
Unfortunately, Loki looked down on Hajrudin for being weak despite being older than him. He also insulted Hajrudin and his mixed heritage. This causes Hajrudin to draw his axe and attempt to kill Loki himself for what happened to his parents. Loki tells him to either get over it or stop wallowing in his personal drama and see the situation for what it is.
At that point, Loki asks Hajrudin if he really believes that he killed their father on purpose like everyone says he did.
