My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 4: “The Story of How We All Became Heroes”

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 4 opens with the interrogation of Yuga and his parents. Despite Deku’s confidence in Yuga, Naomasa Tsukauchi is so trusting. He makes a good point that he could be “booby-trapped,” like Lady Nagant was. Yuga needs to be examined for everyone’s safety including his own. Naomasa interrogates his parents, asking them about their contact with All For One. Yuga’s parents claim that All For One contacted them and they had no means to contact him. Denki jumps in, realizing his point about “steering the villains,” and enters the fight with Momo. She adds that Yuga might be the only one capable of deceiving All For One. Meanwhile, Yuga wonders why everyone is willing to trust a “despicable villain” like him.

Deku and Tenya want upgrades

Deku and Tenya head to Mei to ask for some repairs to their Hero Costumes. Mei is puzzled why they don’t just take them to the item agency. Tenya explains that with the recent disruptions, they have to rely on the support course. Mei’s indifferent reactions make Izuku realize she has no idea what’s happening outside.

Power Loader emerges from the explosions, berating Mei again and telling the students to come inside. In the new Development Studio setup, Power Loader reveals they are now in charge of developing and controlling the U.A. Barrier. Izuku hands Mei his Mid-Gauntlet, asking if she can fix it, but she immediately says no. It’s too damaged, and she’d have to create a new one, but they don’t have enough condenium for the compression mechanism. Tenya then asks for repairs on his armor, but she shuts him down just as quickly, saying she doesn’t have a spec sheet. Two of her classmates then approach and offer to make it for them.

Class 1-A prepares for battle

Outside, Izuku and Tenya meet up with the rest of Class 1-A and Mt. Lady. She reminds them that even after everything they’ve just been through, their main objective is still to track down and eliminate the remnants of the Paranormal Liberation Front and the League of Villains, and they need to do it without delay. Mina wonders if Yuga will still join them, and Izuku and Shoto believe he will come back. Following Izuku, the Class 1-A Search Squad assembles and heads out.

Meanwhile, in the Kansai Region, Nejire Chan, Suneater, Fat Gum, and Ryukyu have just defeated a villain and rescued some civilians, planning to take them to Shiketsu High School. Ryukyu mentions that if the number of people keeps dwindling, their information sources will dry up. Fat Gum adds that there will be no more sneak attacks and raids, with everyone now gearing up for an all-out war. Elsewhere, at Central Hospital, All Might and Hawks discuss their Plan B and the “other battle” that could decide everything.

Formulating a plan

At Central Hospital, the “League of Villains/Paranormal Liberation Front Counter-Force” gathers. All Might and Hawks brief the Police Force and the American military. They explain that because of Yuga’s situation, they’re ready to move forward, having deemed everyone involved trustworthy. Hawks adds that Endeavor, Best Jeanist, and other top heroes are in command out in the field, so they’ll keep their circle small for sharing classified information.

Among the group is Ragdoll from the Wild, Wild Pussycats. Although she wishes her team could be involved, her Search Quirk was used for evil, and now she wants to help however she can. All Might places tiny buttons of All For One and Tomura on a whiteboard, stating that whether they go with Plan A or Plan B, the key is to split them up.

Shota interrogates Yuga

Several men say it’s easier said than done. All Might responds that they need a strategy to make it happen, and Naomasa figures Yuga is key. He adds that while he sympathizes with Yuga’s situation, he has to proceed with caution since Yuga still turned his back on society. All Might chooses to believe in Yuga and already has faith in his teacher, Shota Aizawa.

In the interrogation room, Shota speaks with Yuga while the doctor states that examinations found no irregularities in his brain waves or bodily functions. Shota concludes that Lady Nagant’s fate resulted from something All For One obtained after his defeat by All Might. He realizes that if All For One had planted an explosive in Yuga, there would be no need for public threats to his family. All For One merely planted a seed of fear in them.

Not walking alone

Yuga realizes he must become another pawn for victory. Shota adds that they may be no different from All For One, using him for their own interests. But Shota assures Yuga he won’t let him be tormented by his sins forever. As long as he’s in charge of the Hero course, he’ll take care of all his students. He tells Yuga that he doesn’t teach his students to live burdened by guilt. Even if Yuga feels ashamed, he must walk with those who lend a hand to him. Shota thinks about Kurogiri as he speaks.

Shota promises Yuga they will protect him, and as long as he’s with them, he’ll be okay. Determined, Yuga asks what he can accomplish. Shota clarifies that they won’t be sending him in alone; it’s a path they’ll all walk together. Meanwhile, back at U.A., the General Studies students call out to a costume-clad Hitoshi Shinso, telling him it’s time to go.
