My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 5: “Let You Down”

Himiko Toga visits her old, abandoned family home, now covered in graffiti demonizing her and her family. Memories flood back of being called creepy, being told she could never be accepted, and urged to restrain herself. She steps into her old bedroom, recalling how she used to dream of being a bird or her friend Kei, all while biting her arm. She reminisces about a recurring dream of a red sparrow dancing on her stomach, tearing it open and dancing inside her, staining her with blood. To her, it was cute and made her happy.

After noting that her family had thrown away all their stuff, she leaves the house. Dabi is outside, quipping that even someone like her had a heart. She retorts that she just wanted to see what happened to her house. Dabi then asks if she has what it takes to end this world, to which she responds that it’s a little late to ask now. He continues, saying the world doesn’t care whether they’re crying or smiling, so they should just smile. With that, he burns down Himiko’s family home.

Tomura’s transformation

Back at the Villains’ hideout, Spinner hears screaming echoing down a dark hallway. He rushes to check on Tomura and is startled to see a monstrous, mutated body emerging from the shadows, which then transforms back into Tomura. All For One assures Spinner not to worry, saying Tomura’s recovery is progressing smoothly, gradually overcoming the Quirk Singularity. Spinner, still uneasy, asks if Tomura is really still himself, and Tomura insists he is. Skeptic then chimes in, reminding Spinner that a high percentage of villain criminals are mutants, and many heteromorphs harbor a deep hatred for Heroes due to the racial inequality they face. He points out that when the League of Villains first emerged, it exposed this injustice, leading wannabes to mimic his costume and turning him into a symbol for heteromorphs everywhere.

Spinner tries to argue that he’s not trying to serve some great cause, but Skeptic tells him it doesn’t matter anymore. The common rioters in the street are looking to him for leadership; he is destined to take Re-Destro’s place. Handing him a communication device, Spinner reflects that his personal feelings no longer matter—they’ve passed the point of no return, and he’s here for Tomura’s sake. Tomura orders him to bring it all down, while All For One confidently states that “everyone can be somebody’s hero.” The rest of the villains begin to assemble.

The final plan

Back at Heights Alliance, Class 1-A returns from their search efforts, all feeling incredibly tired. Tenya urges everyone to get to bed early. Izuku, however, laments that he wishes they had more free time to talk, especially since he hasn’t had the chance to properly thank Ochaco yet. Suddenly, All Might, Naomasa Tsukauchi, and Nezu burst into the dorm with urgent news about their finalized plans for the upcoming second War. Meanwhile, in the city, Hawks and Ragdoll brief Endeavor and Best Jeanist on the plans, and Shota Aizawa continues to keep a vigilant watch over Kurogiri.

The next day, Nezu tells the civilians that Tomura will make his big move in four days. Class 1-A thanks everyone at the entrance, and Izuku, now cleaned up and ready, joins them. One of All For One’s subordinates laughs at Izuku for making their mission easier by leaving alone, believing success is now guaranteed. Class 1-A members each say goodbye to their families and the civilians before heading out.

The final battle begins

All For One reflects on how lies don’t work on him anymore, thanks to a Quirk he stole back in the first era of Quirks. Over time, this Quirk has grown stronger as it mixed with others he acquired. He remembers the original owner being a disappointment, but their descendant has become much more impressive, even teaming up with All Might to bring him down. Regardless, All For One is confident this Quirk will secure his victory.

In the abandoned city outside U.A., Izuku meets up with Yuga, who had just called him there. Izuku asks if Yuga is supposed to be detained, but Yuga explains that his parent’s lawyer got him released. Izuku wants to inform everyone so they can restart their search efforts, but Yuga urges him to wait.

They talk about how surprising it is that the courts still function despite Japan being in ruins. Then, Yuga reveals All For One’s true goals. With Japan’s collapse, the yen’s value has plummeted, bankrupting Japanese companies and triggering coordinated villain attacks worldwide. The world now faces a crisis comparable to the Great Depression or the advent of Quirks. Chaos is spreading, and Izuku starts to worry.

Yuga betrays All For One

Izuku insists that won’t happen because they still have each other. Yuga, apologizing and nervously wanting to protect his parents, says it has to end here. Suddenly, All For One re-emerges behind Yuga. He thanks Yuga for delivering Izuku as promised and asks how terrifying it was to betray his friend. He even congratulates Yuga on his speech about his goals and promises his family a blessed existence in his new world. Izuku, feeling betrayed, yells that he believed in Yuga, who tearfully says his pain can’t be measured anymore… before he turns around and blasts All For One with his Navel Laser.

All For One is caught off guard by the attack, and Yuga hides in Izuku’s Smokescreen. They reveal that he fell for their act and praise each other’s performances. Yuga declares that for his mom, dad, and everyone’s sake, he’ll fight All For One. All For One, disappointed and confused, realizes he hadn’t sensed any lies or ill intent and is unsure how they deceived him.

The day All For One Fails

Annoyed, All For One comments that even if it was a setup, One For All is still within reach. With Search tracking positions and weaknesses of those previously targeted, all the Heroes Tomura saw in the last battle are miles away and won’t arrive in time. Using his Warping Quirk, All For One summons an army of villains—prison escapees, League of Villains members, and Paranormal Liberation Front soldiers—declaring it’s too late.

But All For One is shocked again when Kurogiri’s Warp Gate begins to appear behind them. He wonders how they activated him, thinking it saves him the trouble of retrieving him, only to see Neito Monoma emerge from the gate. As the rest of the Heroes start coming through, Yuga declares to All For One the one thing he fears most: the world knows Japan isn’t finished, and if they lead the way, it will inspire everyone else. Today is the day he falls.
