Nippon Sangoku: The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun Episode 2 – Toryumon

In the Calendar Year 57, Spring, the country of Buo begins a war with Yamato. The General of the Border District is Ryumon Mitsuhide arrives Taira Gunji greets him. A solider claims that their army has “lost”, and over 30 thousand soldiers have surrendered. Taira seems to dismiss the solders calling them “spinless”. Mitsuhide is outraged at Taira Gunji for failing at his duties. He tells him to “resign”, and stop enriching himself at others expense.

Behind his back, Taira calls him a “potato-smelling Baldie”, and tells him to “know his place”. The General seems unmoved and a calls the war council to plan a strategy. The Battle of Nagashino begins. The leaders of the Buo army begin to celebrate the victory prematurely. General Ryumon Mitsuhide climbs up the 46 meter bridge and shoots the Buo Supreme Commander, Shimada Hiromasa in the head, along with two Captains and one strategist.

Meeting Asama Yoshitsune

With this swift assault, General Mitsuhide, manages to convince eighty percent of the Buo army to surrender. In Osaka, Misumi Aoteru has sold everything and arrives looking for a cheap hotel, hoping to meet General Mitsuhide. When he arrives in one of the hotel, he’s greeted with hostility. They demand that Aoteru greet Asama Yoshitsune and teenager they call Tsune. He’s the head the Asama noble family that has been supporting the Nation of Yamato from it’s foundation.

Aoteru’s analytical nature is off putting to the men in the hotel, who accuse him of being “rude.” Tsune has a low opinion of the men that worship him. He thinks they’re stupid and clams that he’s impressed that Aoteru can “think.” However, he warns him that these me are violent and if he did interfere they may have harmed Aoteru. Overall, Tsune’s dream is unifying Japan and becoming respected in the process.

Tsune draws his sword on General Mitsuhide

Suddenly, a man stabs another in the neck. Tsune quickly cuts his arm off. The man attempts to stab Tsune in the back but Aoteru stops him. Aoteru tries to give Tsune advice and is slapped in return. Aoteru responds by telling him that when they succeed, they will become “equals,” and he should allow him to advise him. Aoteru warns Tsune that if he only listens to those who flatter him he might end up “feared and despised”.

Aoteru makes it clear that he’s here to “change the world”. Tsune seems unimpressed but the rest of the men are moved. The next day, General Mitsuhide arrives. His adviser tells him that he’s too strict but Mitsuhide won’t compromise. Toryumon is when someone enters government service. Tsune and Aoteru are determine to be by General Mitsuhide. Kaku Yasuaki, the General of the border district’s strategist, informs the potential recruit that the exam isn’t for “common soldiers”, but is designed to recruit exclusive members for the unit of Generals.

General Mitsuhide tells them that there’s only “one” requirement for a candidate. Make him “land his knees on the ground.” He gives them ten minutes and they can’t ask questions. Aoteru is confused and Tsune is intrigued. Kaku is watching the recruits. Tsune draws his sword and tries to slice off his legs.
