Ichigo Kurosaki and Orihime Inoue vs Yhwach
In the throne room of Wahrwelt, Yhwach orders Ichigo to “use all of his power and die as his darkness surrounds him.” Orihime steps in front of Ichigo and uses Santen Kesshun to briefly disperse the darkness. When Ichigo moves away, the darkness rushes towards her, causing her to use Shiten Kōshun to push it back. Yhwach explains that “Orihime’s power is based on rejection but points out that she cannot completely reject him.” He reforms the darkness and sends it through Shiten Kōshun, knocking Orihime into the air.
Orihime tries to protect herself with Santen Kesshun, but the darkness destroys it and begins throwing her around the room. Every time she creates another Santen Kesshun it’s destroyed by the darkness. Watching this, Yhwach explains that Orihime is “unconsciously accepting his attacks because his power is the same power that flows through Ichigo.” Orihime is shocked by this before Ichigo moves between her and the darkness to protect her.
The darkness grabs Ichigo and throws him into the ceiling, causing him to cough up blood. Orihime tries to catch him with Santen Kesshun, but it breaks when Ichigo falls into it and sends both of them across the floor. Ichigo lies behind Orihime, struggling to move his right arm, while Orihime gets back up and holds her hand toward Yhwach.
Yhwach grins before releasing his crimson Reiatsu and crushing Orihime against the floor. He tells her that “she should consider it an honor to be there as a Human who has overstepped her bounds.” Orihime refuses to let Yhwach hurt Ichigo and releases her Shun Shun Rikka to create Sōten Kisshun and Santen Kesshun around Ichigo. She vows to protect him as Ichigo looks up at her in amazement.
Orihime then struggles back to her feet and pushes Santen Kesshun through Yhwach’s intense Reiatsu. Despite several cuts appearing on her arms, she changes Santen Kesshun into Shiten Kōshun with Tsubaki and uses it to reject the Reiatsu.
Jugram Haschwalth vs Uryu Ishida
Uryū Ishida floats in the air with his Quincy: Vollständig active as he faces Jugram Haschwalth, who wields The Almighty. Haschwalth explains he can “borrow its power as Yhwach’s other half” and coats the Blade of Judgment in dark Reiatsu, challenging Uryū to survive it. The Reiatsu surges toward Uryū, who fires Heilig Pfeil lasers, but is forced to retreat as it keeps pursuing him.
The Reiatsu destroys pillars and consumes his attacks. Uryū forms a Reishi icosahedron barrier, but it is battered as Haschwalth advances, saying the fight contradicts Uryū’s understanding of the Three Worlds. Haschwalth pulls the Reiatsu back and Uryū counters with laser fire, but Haschwalth evades and warns that killing Yhwach would end the Three Worlds. The Reiatsu returns and begins breaking Uryū’s barrier again.
The barrier is eventually crushed, leaving Uryū wounded and impaled by dark thorns. Haschwalth calls him “pathetic,” but Uryū stands again, acknowledging the risk of defeating Yhwach and crushing the remaining Reiatsu on his arm. When asked why he continues, Uryū recalls Ichigo’s resolve to defeat Yhwach for the sake of those protecting the world.
Gerard Valkyrie vs Visored
Below in the Seireitei, Ryūnosuke Yuki and Shino Madarame stand guard while Gerard Valkyrie stands over the defeated Renji Abarai and Rukia Kuchiki. Gerard walks through Wahrwelt while Hiyori and Hachigen watch from a tower. Hiyori is shocked by his power, but Hachigen denies being scared. Gerard complains that the Gotei 13 can barely oppose his Schrift, The Miracle, and compares them to “ants.”
Hiyori and Hachigen attack, but Gerard easily counters and explains that the “impossible becoming possible is what a miracle is.” Hiyori insults him, calling him “bald,” and he corrects her. Shinji ambushes Gerard and stabs him with Sakanade, triggering a full Visored assault. Kensei, Mashiro, Rose, Lisa, Love, and Hachigen all attack at once with Shikai, Bankai, and coordinated techniques. Shinji then leads a combined Cero blast that creates a massive explosion.
Gerard emerges unharmed and knocks all the Visored away with a single attack. He prepares to destroy the area, but his arm is suddenly frozen by Tōshirō Hitsugaya. Hitsugaya activates Hyōrinmaru and then Bankai, freezing Gerard completely despite him briefly breaking free and trying to fight back.
Gerard Valkyrie vs the Gotei 13
Before Hitsugaya can finish Gerard, he breaks out of the ice. Hitsugaya realizes his ice is not enough and is nearly grabbed, but Byakuya cuts Gerard’s wrist with Senbonzakura Kageyoshi. Hitsugaya lands beside Byakuya and thanks him as one of his ice petals crumbles. Byakuya says “he will help since Gerard is too strong to fight alone,” and Hitsugaya agrees.
Gerard reaches for them, but Kenpachi appears and cuts off his arm. The arm regenerates and grows stronger, revealing that any injury makes Gerard more powerful. Byakuya explains this, while Kenpachi decides to test it by cutting him further. Hitsugaya stops him, warning that making Gerard bigger could destroy the Seireitei if he falls.
Kenpachi ignores this and fights anyway, but Gerard blocks him with his shield and sends him flying. Gerard draws Hoffnung and declares Kenpachi will be destroyed. Kenpachi responds by releasing his Shikai, Nozarashi, shocking Hitsugaya and Byakuya.
They clash again, but Gerard cuts Kenpachi and overpowers him. Byakuya and Hitsugaya counterattack together, damaging Gerard but getting injured in return. Gerard explains that The Miracle turns fear into his growth and hope into Hoffnung, making him stronger the more they fight. The captains watch as he laughs, while Hitsugaya’s ice petal continues to crumble.
