Luffy asks Gaban why he has to fight for the key and tells him to just give it up. Road doesn’t understand why Gaban is dragging this out. Gaban mocks Luffy, asking if he can’t take it himself, which is all it takes for Luffy to jump off Road’s hands and rush him. He goes straight for the key, but Gaban slips past him every time. Luffy says he just wants to free Loki and get back to the feast, but Gaban tells him to stop talking and take it. When Luffy lunges again, Gaban suddenly jumps, coats the key in Haki, and slams it down on him, sending him crashing and leaving everyone stunned.
Luffy pulls himself out of the rubble, clearly pissed now. Gaban notices the straw hat and says it looks better on him than the helmet he had before. Luffy says the hat is a treasure he’s holding for Shanks, but Gaban calls Shanks cheap for not truly giving it to him. That comment pushes Luffy over the edge, and he snaps back, telling Gaban not to talk about Shanks like that. Gaban shuts him up by jamming the key into his mouth and slamming him into a wall. He then pulls out his axes and uses Yasotakeru, unleashing a relentless barrage. Zoro steps in at the last second and blocks it, but the force tears through part of the castle. Watching this, Gaban realizes Luffy isn’t alone—he’s backed by a strong crew.
Luffy activates Gear Fifth, and both he and Zoro get ready to go all out. Right when it’s about to escalate, Gaban suddenly calls it off, saying he yields, causing them both to crash mid-attack. Annoyed, they demand he take the fight seriously, but Gaban points out the key is already theirs, lying on the ground next to him. Road tries to explain who Gaban really is, but Gaban cuts him off, telling him not to rush it. As he walks away, he tells Luffy that if Elbaph is still standing when they’re done, they should come find him. Luffy and Zoro immediately reject the idea. As Gaban leaves, he thinks back to his conversation with Shanks, questioning why he should trust Luffy, only for Shanks to tell him to decide for himself.
Gunko summons two more Saints
At the Walrus School, some of the kids notice a strange bird, but Ange does not see it. What they actually saw was the bird-like construct Gunko created for her and Shamrock to land on the tree’s branches. Once they arrive, Gunko forms a Magic Circle. Instead of summoning one Knight of God, she summons two: Saint Sommers of the Shepherd Family and Saint Killingham of the Rimoshifu Family. The reveal is sudden. Neither of them expected this. Sommers appears in his underwear, still complaining about the food shortage, while Killingham is already in a rush, annoyed that he is late. The two quickly realize they have been summoned to Elbaph.
While Sommers gets dressed, Shamrock questions why two were summoned when he only asked for one. Killingham explains that he is being called back to Mary Geoise since everything has been falling apart after the Levely. Sommers then asks Shamrock what he is doing here and if he came to visit Harald’s grave, but Shamrock lays out the situation. Sommers points out they cannot just stuff the children into a bag. Killingham adds that anyone without the mark cannot pass through the “Abyss,” meaning they will have to move them by ship. Shamrock, however, takes a darker turn. He tells them that with their abilities, they can turn the kidnapping into a game.
