Zombieman meets Dr. Genus, who immediately recognizes him as the immortal experiment that escaped and destroyed his lab years ago.
Holding an axe to Genus, Zombieman demands to know why the House of Evolution was wiped out. He even suggests it could be rebuilt—if Genus is still alive to do it. Genus explains that everything ended after his encounter with Saitama. Saitama, he says, broke his limiter, surpassing all human and artificial boundaries and proving Genus’s research wrong. Every being, Genus explains, has a natural limit to stop them from turning into monsters—a safeguard put in place by God.
What does Saitama’s power cost
Zombieman asks if Saitama’s power came with a cost. Genus confirms it did: Saitama lost all his hair and now lives detached from society. Zombieman points out that anyone with that kind of power who doesn’t become a monster is a hero. Genus expands on the idea—monsters are shaped by their inner flaws or the world around them, while heroes bring out their true potential through effort or enhancements.
He goes on to explain that some beings, like the Seafolk or the Dark Matter Thieves, are simply aggressive, intelligent creatures. Heroes, meanwhile, are usually born with potential—but Saitama is different. He had none, yet achieved greatness through sheer determination. Realizing this, Genus abandoned his old ambitions and now lives quietly, running a takoyaki stand born from his final experiment: a method to produce endless octopus tentacles.
Garou verses Bug God and Royal Ripper
As the episode picks up, Garou faces off against Bug God and Royal Ripper. He opens with a punch to Bug God’s torso but ends up injuring his own hand. Royal Ripper immediately goes on the offensive, unleashing a storm of slashes that Garou dodges and deflects one after another. While Garou’s focused on Ripper’s attacks, Bug God tries to ambush him from behind—but instead gets caught by the deflected strikes. Bug God quickly recovers, slamming Garou into the ground and tossing him into power lines, electrocuting him. Garou gets back up, unfazed, and charges the two monsters as they leap toward him.
The fight hits a standstill. Garou stands his ground, confident he’s figured them out, while the monsters prepare to go all out. Garou claims he’s seen all their moves and won’t be hit again.
Meanwhile, Tareo’s been captured by Sludge Jellyfish. When Garou realizes it, that brief distraction proves costly—Royal Ripper slashes his back, and Bug God lands a powerful hit to his torso. The two unleash a brutal combo that leaves Garou bloodied and motionless on the ground. Bug God tells Royal Ripper to stop, saying Garou should be kept alive, but Ripper grins, warning it might already be too late. He then turns to Tareo with a chilling smile, telling him to come along—because they’re going to be “great friends.”
Saitama loses his wallet
At Saitama’s apartment, Genos, King, Bang, and Bomb wait anxiously for him to get back. When Saitama finally walks in looking completely worn out, everyone assumes he just fought Garou. But Saitama insists he didn’t—completely unaware that he actually did fight and defeat Garou for the third time. Instead, he’s more concerned about losing his wallet and forgetting to buy cabbage.
A few moments later, Fubuki shows up with the cabbage, clearly irritated that Saitama stuck her with the bill. Before anyone can settle down, Genos suddenly detects something fast approaching and sends King to check it out. It turns out to be Dr. Kuseno, arriving in a mechanical suit to check on Genos. Kuseno introduces himself to Saitama and even brings a gift: premium beef for hot pot. Saitama tells Genos to start cooking—but realizes too late that he’ll have to share it with everyone.
Garou’s “death”
Meanwhile, deep inside the Monster Association, Royal Ripper and Bug God report Garou’s “death” to Gyoro Gyoro. Gyoro Gyoro sees right through their excuses but spares them, warning that the Hero Association could launch an attack at any moment. He’s also captured one of Child Emperor’s scouting robots, “Dig Here Woof Woof No. 3.”
Elsewhere, the monsters prepare for battle—or just laze around waiting for orders. Tareo, now a prisoner, ends up in the same cell as Waganma. Waganma arrogantly boasts that his wealthy family will rescue him and tries to boss Tareo around, until Sludge Jellyfish shuts him up by reminding him that the executives here are strong enough to take on S-Class heroes. Meanwhile, Garou regains consciousness where he was left and starts moving again.
