Luffy is ecstatic to finally arrive at Elbaph, a place he has wanted to see for a long time. He goes on about how he has never seen so many giants gathered in one place on the Great Eirik and hopes Usopp figures out they have made it too once he climbs the giant tree. While Luffy keeps talking, Loki clearly irritated finally gets his attention after being ignored. He reminds Luffy that he is in the presence of the “Sun God” and is not to speak without permission. Loki’s title is revealed along with his massive 2,600,000,000 Belly bounty from the World Government.
Loki asks Luffy what he thinks about his situation, and Luffy simply says he is chained up. Loki explains he has been like this for six years, despite claiming to be the strongest giant in Elbaph. He is bound to the Treasure Tree Adam, the sturdiest tree in the world, and restrained with Seastone chains that suppress his Devil Fruit powers. Knowing Luffy is a pirate, Loki offers him a deal free him, and he will take down any rival pirate crew Luffy chooses. He says he will not force him, but then reveals they are in Elbaph’s “Underworld,” where criminals are sent and surrounded by massive beasts that kill anyone who enters. Loki claims the beasts are his allies, making it clear what will happen if Luffy refuses.
When Luffy sees the beasts, though, he is not intimidated. Instead, he is reminded of his time training on Rusukaina.
Luffy tames the beasts
Loki reveals that the humans there once tried to challenge Elbaph, but were defeated and locked up. Now they wear foul-smelling robes to keep the beasts away, and despite their situation, they remain loyal to him. They worry about being knocked unconscious again like they were by Shanks, and just hearing his name immediately grabs Luffy’s attention. To everyone’s surprise, Luffy easily tames the beasts himself.
Curious, Luffy asks if Shanks really came to Elbaph. Loki notices the admiration in his voice and mocks Shanks, calling him a “cowardly” pirate. That sets Luffy off. He instantly transforms into Gear Fourth and throws a punch, but Loki dodges without much effort. Even when Loki claims he was joking, Luffy doesn’t let it slide and warns him not to say something like that again. At the same time, Loki quietly decides that once he is free, he’ll kill Luffy for attacking him while defenseless. After things settle, Luffy presses for answers about Shanks, but Loki refuses to give him any information for free.
The rest of the Strawhat crew arrives
Meanwhile, Zoro’s group is still making their way up the rope bridge. Usopp spots Road chasing after them and figures out he must be the Sun God, especially since he looks like he was struck by lightning. Gerd and Goldberg are right behind him, with Goldberg carrying the Thousand Sunny. Zoro thinks about fighting back, but Usopp stops him, pointing out they could be connected to Dorry and Brogy. Instead of risking it, he suggests they head to the nearest village for safety and to figure out what’s going on.
Elsewhere, Hajrudin and Stansen take down a giant moose, planning to prepare it as food for the Straw Hats. On the Great Eirik, Brook finishes cutting Robin’s hair. He’s nervous the whole time since it’s his first attempt, but it turns out great. Robin’s hair now looks the same as it did two years ago. Dorry and Brogy recognize the style from when she first met Saul, and Franky, Oimo, and Kashii get hit with a wave of nostalgia seeing it again.
As the crew finally arrives at Elbaph, the episode closes with a sudden shout from a giant Saul has collapsed and can’t get back up, setting up the next development.
