Kafka trains to learn the “Squadron Style Combat technique,” Kikoru thinks the technique is perfect for him. Her father use to train in the style. Iharu tells him that they’re not that “cold hearted,” despite being afraid of his new power.
Director General Isao Shinomiya seems to be conscience inside Kaiju No. 9, but he’s fading. He notes that Kaiju are developing in ways he never anticipated. We seem a series of different Kaiju as they surface. A Kaiju appears at Numata City, it massive, white, and glowing. Another floats in the sky over a train track in Shinjuku, its a black monolith with several heads. In Shibuya ward, Tokyo, a humanoid Kaiju appeared at an intersection then disappeared.
The Defense Force prepares for battle
Kaiju sucked up falling fish and disappeared in the sea, another raced cars on the highway by a rest stop near Kamikawachi. Weird holes in oil tankers and craters in mountains. It seems that the Kaiju are training. The defense force is naturally alarmed at the new threats. As the defense force prepares for battle, Isao conscious begins to fade. At the Ariake Maritime Base, Kikoru Shinomiya prepares to wear the Kaiju No. 4 suit her mother Hikari Shinomiya uses to wear. As she readies herself to avenge her father, she pray her mother gives her strength. We get a glimpse of the little girl Kafka saved early in season 1. Calling him “Mr. Kaiju man,” she certain that he’ll save them. Kikoru and Narumi train together for days. Meanwhile, the first and third divisions hold a joint practice session. While taking a lunch break, Kafka and Mina Ashiro have a long overdue discussion.
Elsewhere, in the Shinjuku Ward, Kabuki Cho, a young girl is asked out by two guys. She transforms into her humanoid Kaiju form and kill many of the people in her vicinity.
