Endeavor is one of the most complicated heroes in My Hero Academia. A prideful man, Endeavor was constantly striving to dethrone All Might. This goal consumed him, resulting in a cold callous personality. His Quirks downside, overheating, caused him to seek to father a child without his limitation. To this end, he married an ice Quirk user. Unfortunately, Endeavor was a cruel and abusive father and husband. When Shoto’s mother attacked him after a mental breakdown, Endeavor sent her to a psychiatric ward. With his “masterpiece”, Shoto, hating him Endeavor has become determined to seek his families forgiveness.
A new symbol of peace
This coupled with his conflicted feelings regarding his unearned position as the number one hero Endeavor is intriguing. The question is, can he redeem himself, accept his place as the no. 1 hero, and become the new “Symbol of Peace.” My Hero Academia’s season finale hopes to begin to answer this question. Tasked with fighting the first High-end Nomu, Endeavor is tested. Despite Hawks aid, he doesn’t have an easy time. Endeavor is able to finally defeat the Nomu with Prominence Burn. Endeavor wasn’t unscathed receiving a massive scar over his eye. Exhausted but triumphant, Endeavor strikes a pose similar to All Might. Endeavor’s not like All Might, but that doesn’t mean he can’t become the next Symbol of Peace.
The animation in this episode is exquisite. It’s better to watch than have me describe in detail what happens. Overhaul, My Hero Academia episode 88 ends the fourth season with a bang. I originally didn’t like the first half of this season as I found it underwhelming. The festival arc, in particular, wasn’t that excited. However, I did enjoy how it ended. Season 4 was uneven but ended well. Regardless, the next season is going to be amazing.
