Coco puts on the shoes she borrowed from Agott. Each shoe has half of a seal on the bottom. In order to float, Coco must put her feet together. Unfortunately, Coco has no practice hovering and crashes into a bush. She manages to hover up but crashes down when a brushbuddy lands on her head. A brushbuddy is a furry snakelike or caterpillar-like creature that’s attracted to the scent of conjuring ink. It’s kinda cute though. Coco notices that she landed in the river and the seals at the bottom of the shoes have rubbed off.
At the Atelier, Agott tells Tetia that Coco is taking the “the test.” Agott refuses to “tolerate anyone who can’t keep” with her. Agott feeling are justifiable. She worked hard to become an apprentice and Coco was just “handed” the position. However, her feelings are different from her actions. She set’s Coco up to fail. That’s unacceptable. During the test Coco creates a “pigment stone,” using it to draw on the cloak.
Qifrey makes Coco his apprentice
She tries to use the cloak like a sail on a boat but when she uses the experimental seal, the sail breaks off the ship. Coco grabs it and uses it to soar the skies. She’s eventually able to grab the Diadem Herb. Qifrey returns home only to find that Coco went to take the test. He’s obviously is shocked and wants to stop her however, she would fail the exam if he does. Qifrey creates a window but Coco walks through with the Diadem Herb, which she tries to give to Agott, who walks off in angry. Qifrey scolds her for her recklessness. He tells her that she didn’t need the test, “she was already his apprentice.”
He hands her a box with cloak and a “pointed cap.” Back at the Dada Mountains, a Brimmed Hat Witch is standing on top of one of the mountains. He says that “the seed has sprouted.” Both Qifrey and now the Brimmed Hat has implied that Coco is important in a someway. Despite her inexperience, Coco has shown that she’s talented.
