Opinion:

This episode feature a lot of action and it’s more than worth the wait. The unpredictability of this episode was the most enjoyable. I couldn’t tell which way the tide would turn, and whether Satsuki stood a chance.

I was impressed with Satsuki’s abilities as a fighter. I’m hoping that Nui actually dies, she just annoying but I doubt it. I wonder if Junketsu is destroyed or would pieces of it survive being reused for Satsuki.

Kill 21.9

Mako added her usual humor and disruption to this episode, I was surprised by the fact that she appeared in the episode as much as she was. She was very effective in this episode, although I’m disappointed that she didn’t fight with Senketsu though I’m not surprise she didn’t.

Kill La Kill – Episode 20

Far from the Maddening Crowd

Mako makes one of her speeches after Ryuko claims to no longer be human. Mako say’s that “this isn’t the Ryuko I know” and she responds that she ins’t the same Ryuko. She feels that the “old” her was a fraud and she just a monster. Mako appears sad at this revelation.

Both Nui and Ragyo appear to be paper clones and succeed in convincing Ryuko to meet them at Honnouji Academy. Ryuko still angry aims to fight alone, and lashes out at her friends.

The Four Devas form a plan to rescue Satsuki, she send them a message revealing that she has a plan. Aikuro decides to place all the force of Nudist Beach in pursue of getting Satsuki back, he reveals The Naked Sol as his trump card. The Naked Sol is a massive ship (that resembles the mechs from Gurren Lagann), and they set sail for the academy.

Kill 20.4

The Four Devas arrive to save Satsuki, while on the Naked Sol Ryuko arrives dressed in Junketsu. Ryuko is unmatched, but Satsuki appears wearing Senketsu.

Kill 20.11

Opinion:

This episode was a very good one, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not surprise that Nui isn’t “human”, she certainly doesn’t act like it. I wish there was more depth to the fights, however I’d imagine that the next episode will fulfill that need.

Ryuko’s attitude is understandable but I’m starting to find it annoying. That said I find it interesting that Satsuki and Ryuko have seemingly switch places. Overall, this episode left me excited for what’s going to happen next.

Kill La Kill – Episode 16

The Girl Can’t Help It

The aftermath of the battle with Ryuko has taken a toll on Satsuki. She admits that it’s risky to wear her Junketsu but must do so to counter Ryuko. Nue contacts Satsuki and tell her that her mother would like to speak to her in person. Satsuki immediately returns to her mansion.

Kill La Kill - 16 IMG 1Aikuro (mostly naked) aims to reveal the truth of the Life Fiber to Mako and Ryuko. Satsuki mother seems to have boundary issues and massages her daughter. Back at the Nudest beach headquarters Aikuro tells Ryuko that her father founded “Nudest Beach”.

Kill La Kill - 16 IMG 2Aikuro explains that the Life Fibers caused the homo sapiens species to evolve. Meanwhile, Satsuki and her mother visit the “Original Life Fiber”. The life fibers are an extraterrestrial life form. They are similar to parasites, they feed off the nerve pulses of their host.

Kill La Kill - 16 IMG 3The life fibers cannot inhabit the bodies of their host, they place too much strain on the nervous system. Instead they “cover” the bodies, leaving the hosts alive. Senketsu takes the news of his origins hard, questioning his motives in regard to Ryuko.

Kill La Kill - 16 IMG 4Aikuro states that Senketsu is different, and was created by Dr. Matoi to “fight against the Life Fibers”. Ryuko is resistant to the Life Fibers, which is why her father created Senketsu for her. Ryuko becomes angered at the idea that Nudest Beach wants to use Senketsu as a weapon. She takes Senketsu off and refuses to fight, Tsumugu threatens to kill them both.
