Sakamoto asks Akira if she’s related to “Rion Akao?” She’s Akira’s aunt and Akira came to JCC to find her. Kaji, Shin, and Mafuyu flee from Toramaru. Shin asks “why does she like Sakamoto so much?” While swinging on a vine she offers to tell them. Sakamoto is her “God.” She began idolizing him from childhood, creating theme songs, learning to do makeup to look for him, and practicing her “conversation making,” so she could befriend him.
When Shin shows a mannerism similar to Sakamoto, Toramaru’s demeaner changes. Shin goes off on a tangent admiring Sakamoto and his hope to become his “partner.” Toramaru becomes enraged when she concludes that Shin thinks he knows Sakamoto better than she does. Toramaru attacks Shin with a series of weapons, leaving Shin on the defensive. He considers what Sakamoto would do in this situation. He changes tactics and attacks her with weak punches that knock her off a cliff, into a waterfall.
X begins his plans
However, Toramaru can’t swim and Shin dives in to save her. She asks him why he saved her and he responds that Sakamoto wouldn’t have “left her to die.” She offers to give him her Sakamoto doll but is suddenly attacked by Gaku controlling the body of someone else. He takes off his VR helmet to talk to “X” but unintentionally removes the “tail” from the game. His vessel is disqualified. Cornered, Gaku attacks and slaughters the administrators and the test takers. One of the admin, tells Shin and the others to flee.
Shin decides that he won’t run but has reached his limits. Suddenly, Toramaru and Mafuyu attack Gaku’s vessel.
