Sakamoto Days, Season 2: “Overload,” we enter the Death Row Prisoners Arc. While Sakamoto searches for more intel on the assassins, ORDER begins hunting down the prisoners. Death row inmates, Dump, Apart, Saw, and Minimalists, have begun killing their targets. We are introduced to the five members of the Order that are seeking the prisoners, Osaragi, Shishiba, Nagumo. Hyo, and the elderly, Takamura.
In a flashback, Nagumo warns Sakamoto that they better not get in the way of their hunt. Sakamoto refuses because he needs them alive to gain information on ‘X’. Meanwhile, Shin and Lu are in a pet store. Suddenly, the animals start going wild as Saw approaches. He attacks with an axe but due to Shin’s telepathy his attacks are predicable. Unfortunately, when Saw gets serious his thoughts only scream “kill”.
Saw attacks with an axe attached to rope. This allows him to swing it from great distances. Lu shoots him the three nails from a nail gun, while, Shin shoots him with a combination of an aerosol spray and lighter. None of it manages to much damage. Overwhelmed, Shin and Lu look like there about to lose. When Saw threatens to kill Sakamoto’s family, Shin’s demander changes and he’s able to avoid Saw’s attack.
Shin claims that he can now “see the future”, and is able to predict Saw’s attacks. It’s explained that Shin can read someone’s “motor readiness potential”, basically their subconscious. With this new ability Shin gains the upper hand. Can he maintain it?

Shin’s development during the fight with Saw is a huge highlight, especially seeing him transition from basic telepathy to reading motor readiness potential for foresight. The intense shifts in power between the Order and the prisoners often lead to fascinating fan discussions, including those exploring control dynamics through BDSM roleplay themes in character-focused threads. I’m really curious to see if he can sustain this new ability when he goes up against the stronger members of the group!
