Luffy greets and thanks Saul for helping Robin in the past, all while talking like a yakuza, confusing the rest of the crew. Robin introduces Luffy, but Saul already knows his reputation. He’s relieved Robin found friends who would protect her like he believed she would. Robin calls the Straw Hats her true friends, causing everyone except Luffy, Zoro, and Jinbe to break down crying again, saying they would die for her.
Saul then greets the rest of the crew and congratulates them on reaching Elbaph before apologizing for his earlier prank. He reveals that the woman calling for help, Ange, is actually his assistant and was in on it the whole time. Saul tells Luffy he’s impressed that he’s now one of the Four Emperors and asks him to keep protecting Robin, which Luffy happily agrees to.
Robin heads to the Owl Library
Lilith arrives and flies over to Saul. At first he doesn’t recognize her, but she introduces herself. Jinbe and Gerd bring over a large box she had them retrieve from Egghead. When Saul asks what’s inside, Lilith reveals it’s a perfect clone of Dr. Vegapunk, the same method he used to visit Elbaph twenty years ago without alerting the World Government. She explains she can’t extract the clone yet without the right equipment, so she plans to build a new lab. Bonney asks if she can help Kuma, and Lilith says she intends to.
Some kids then peek out from behind a tree, asking Saul if they can play now. He tells them to go ahead. Ange introduces herself and explains the kids usually play near the Warrior Spring but were told to wait until after the reunion. She offers to give the crew a tour, but Luffy and Usopp immediately run off toward the Walrus School, which Saul opened twenty years ago at King Harald’s request. Ange offers to guide the others while Saul takes Robin to the Owl Library.
Loki’s past
Luffy and Usopp run into a group of giant children who want to play prisoners with them. Some of the other kids stop them, saying they are not supposed to hurt humans or call them “shorties,” and the group backs off. Usopp is confused by how calm they are and asks if they are not meant to be warriors, but the kids explain that fighting is dangerous. The crew then meets their teacher, Ripley, who reveals that the Straw Hats had been standing on her the whole time.
Ripley explains that the stories about violent giant pirates are over a hundred years old. In the present day, giants are more peaceful due to King Harald, who pushed for trade instead of war. While many saw him as a revolutionary trying to change Elbaph, he was killed by Loki. Because of this, the giants refuse to accept Loki as king, leaving the country without a ruler. As Ripley gives them a tour of the school, she asks Luffy about his transformation, noting it resembles a legendary warrior from Elbaph’s past, something she recognizes as part of the last generation raised on those stories.
The Knights of God arrive
Elsewhere, Robin, Saul, Chopper, Lilith, and Bonney visit the Owl Library. Saul explains he returned to Ohara with Hajrudin to recover the books. He warns Robin to be careful, and when she steps inside, the book she is holding grows to giant size. Saul says this is a strange ability of the library, but he is more focused on showing Robin the knowledge he managed to save. Seeing the books from her home again brings Robin to tears.
In the Underworld, Loki speaks with someone named Mosa. He asks if the fear they once felt still drives them, and Mosa confirms it does. Loki says that even though they have never met in person, he considers Mosa a friend and claims he would have destroyed everyone if he were in their position. Mosa does not agree with his violent thinking but starts to sense a form of kindness behind his words, something Loki quickly denies.
As the giants celebrate, a bolt of black lightning strikes a nearby castle. A magic circle forms on the ground, and two hooded figures, a man and a woman, appear within it.
