One Piece Episode 1158: “A Quest in the Land of Mystery! The Secret of the Sun God”

Usopp points out that even though they’re wearing Elbaph clothes, it doesn’t make sense that a land of giants would have clothes that fit humans. Wanting answers, the crew decides to find someone nearby and ask where they are. They soon run into a man riding a giant grasshopper, but he refuses to stop, saying he’s in a hurry. The only thing he tells them is that they’re in the “Land of Gods,” ruled by the “Sun God.”

He also mentions that he serves the ruler of Bigstein Castle, Iscat, which the crew realizes is the giant cat they fought earlier. Luffy tries to admit he accidentally beat it, but Usopp quickly covers his mouth to stop him from causing trouble. The man continues, saying the “Needle God” should be hungry by now, likely referring to the giant hedgehog Nami zapped, and that he’s running late because the “Ear God,” the rabbit, was burned to death. Once again, Usopp stops Luffy from admitting he ate it while the rest of the crew act innocent. Before leaving, the man warns them not to head in the opposite direction of the castle because that’s where the Sun God’s temple is, guarded by dangerous soldiers. As expected, this only makes Luffy run off in that direction.

Luffy crashes

Nami thanks the man for the information and apologizes for everything else as the crew chases after Luffy. While moving through the area, they notice there are no actual homes around and the castle looks identical to the one they were just in. Luffy spots someone running toward him in Elbaph clothes and assumes he can pass by, but it turns out to be his reflection. He crashes into a mirror, causing the “sky” to crack and shatter, revealing a netted door behind it. The crew realizes the entire kingdom is actually a diorama inside a giant room, confirming they’re no longer on the Giants’ ship.

Right after, they hear someone calling for help, which turns out to be Chopper. After breaking through the door, they reunite, with Chopper hugging Nami while she says he owes her. Usopp and Zoro notice more human-sized clothes nearby and realize they were made for dolls. Luffy finds more blocks scattered around, while Sanji points out that the broken mirror works as a one-way window, meaning people outside can look in without being seen. He suggests putting mirrors like that in the girls’ cabin, which immediately earns him a kick from Nami.

The Sun God rages

Zoro pieces together that a giant built the diorama and placed humans and giant animals inside it for entertainment. Usopp immediately assumes this means they’ve reached Elbaph since everything in the room is oversized, but Nami remains skeptical. Chopper suggests they leave while they still can, while Usopp argues they should go back into the set to look for more clues. Before they can decide, the temple guards the man mentioned earlier arrive: a giant snake, three giant mice, and a giant raven. Luffy wastes no time and starts fighting them. In the middle of the fight, the Sun God enters and is horrified to see the Straw Hats battling the animals and setting the room on fire.

After Luffy defeats the guards in his Gear 5 form, the crew starts running from the Sun God and comes across the Iscat, which Luffy forces to give them a ride. Nami reveals she found a blueprint of the block set, and they use it to head for the exit. The Sun God chases after them, furious that they destroyed his kingdom and determined not to let any of them escape.
