One Piece Episode 1103: Bonney’s Quest for the Truth

A lot goes on in One Piece episode 1103, “Turn Back My Father! Bonney’s Futile Wish,” Kaku, Lucci, and Stussy set their sights on destroying the Thousand Sunny. Kaku uses his elaborate Tempest Kick to send an attack. A sleeping Zoro is awakened and easily counters the attack. I’ve mentioned this before but Kaku despite his likely awakening is no match for Zoro. It’s a similar situation to Luffy verses Lucci. Both encounters serve to remind us how far the Strawhat’s have come. Luffy, Chopper, and Jimbe regroup with the others.

Meanwhile, Bonnie continues to try to kill Vegapunk. She chases him deep into the lab, swing at him with a wrench. Vegapunk begs Bonney to give him a chance to explain. He claims there’s a reason that he turned Kuma into a robot. Bonney turns Dr. Vegapunk into a little boy. She demands the reason. He claims that telling her will only “hurt” her. He says that the decision to get rid of his “humanity,” way Kuma’s. Vegapunk claims t was difficult because they we friends and he had a hard time doing it. Bonney doesn’t by it. She suddenly, notices a room with one of Kuma’s paw shaped repulsions in it. Vegapunk warns her against going in the room.

At the Red Port, Kuma begins scaling the wall. The Marines try to shoot him off the wall with cannons. However, he keeps moving. In the New World, The Kid Pirates arrive at Elbaf, the island of the giants. Finally, Garp arrives to G-14 to pick up Helmeppo so they can rescue Koby from Blackbeard. This episode was largely setup. I’m afraid for Garp. I wanna see his skills but I don’t think he alone can do enough damage to rescue Koby. I don’t think Blackbeard is going to be on the Island as he is probably dealing with Law. I’m also curious what Kuma left behind, why he wanted to become a cyborg, and if Bonney jumps into the repulsion the way Zoro did.
