Mina Ashiro shows why she’s unmatched at long ranged combat. Larger Kaiju weapons require greater quantity and variety of kaiju tissue. Failure to draw out enough power might cause the weapon to lose “range and force”, as fail to pierce through a Kaiju’s shield. Mina is the only one in the world that can do it. Despite Mina’s stunning show of force, the Defense Force isn’t certain this is all Kaiju no. 9 is throwing at them.
Kaiju may have targeted important locations but they didn’t destroy anything. Suddenly, in the Sumida Ward, water begins to rush out of the sewer. Kaiju numbered No. 11 through 15 appear. This is beyond what the Eastern Division is capable of handling. Kaiju No. 15 attacks with a mouth blast killing six officers. Their goal is to eliminate the strongest officers. Normally, it would take several Captain level officers to handle just one numbered Kaiju.
Kaiju No. 9’s plan
Without backup the strongest officers are going to have to fight on their own. Kikoru is well aware and prepares to fight unleashing combat power at 84 percent. It’s clear that all the new Kaiju have been specially made to target the individual officers. Kikoru attacks No. 15 with a barrage of attacks, despite being the “strongest first-year officer ever”, she still outmatched. Captain Narumi Kaiju ability is countered as Kaiju No. 11 is able to use water to avoid detection.
Vice-Captain Hoshina is overwhelmed with a Kaiju that specializes in close quarter combat. What Kaiju No. 9 has done is analyses and adapt to the Defense Force. Normally they just use brute force and the Defense Force can make use of the intel and combat abilities. They no longer have this advantage. Elsewhere, Platoon Leader Shinonome is struggling against Kaiju No. 13. She unleashes her combat ability at 73 percent. She tries her hardest but knows she has no chance at victory.
Shinonome attacks but is immobilized. Suddenly, Kafka arrives to save her. Against the orders he was given, Kafka transforms into his Kaiju No. 8 form and prepares to take them out.
