Shinra and Joker encounter Captain Burns who informs them of Obi’s intended fate. Shinra is shocked. Burns explains that he has given himself to his “God”. Captain Burns has accepted that many will be sacrificed for the will of the Evangelist. When Captain Burns reveals Obi chained to a cross, he challenges Shinra. Enrages, Shinra charges up the building and attacks Burns. The Captain has little issue deflecting Shinra’s assault. Joker enters the fight. He and Shinra try to overwhelm Burns but are pushed of with his Voltage Nova.
Shinra is clearly outmatched. Without Joker he doesn’t stand much of a chance. Joker tells Shinra the longer Captain Burns fights the stronger his flames will get. He’s currently, at Stage 1. Company 8th continues to travel underground and accept that they are now traitors. As the fight rages on the roof, the White Clads discuss Haumea’s plans for Burns. She intends for Burns to “link with a doppelganger”. Meanwhile, Haumea is “collecting” and the Collective Unconscious which looks like it’s driving her insane.
Company 8 prepares for the Destroyers
Charon is unwilling to witness her suffering. He’s completely disinterested in what significance the other White Clad ascribe to it. At Company 5, the Princess is in the lab researching infernals and doppelgangers. She wonders if the fire at the convent was done on purpose. She wonders if it has anything to do with doppelgangers. The White Clad prepare for the arrival of Company 8. They bust through the front without Arthur, Tamaki takes charge as she’s resistant to fire.
One of the White Clad “Destroyers”, has a special metal arm. It seem to be magnetic but it’s designed to combat pyrokinetic opponents directly. Back on the roof, Captain Burns reaches Stage 2, much to Jokers surprise. He’s not sure if they can win now. Meanwhile, Vulcan and Licht analyze the White Clad Destroyer. The battle lines are being set up. Company 8 faces against the White Clad Destroyers and Joker and Shinra fights Captain Burns. I think that future episodes will reveal Captain Burns doppelganger.
As it stands, neither Shinra nor Joker appear to have the outright ability to beat one Captain Burns not to mention two.
