It was on the airplane to Okinawa, when the parents vanished. They disappeared during the flight and so did their guards. Yuru doesn’t believe the Kagemori are innocent but Asa trusts them. Suddenly, they’re attacked by a number of daemon pairs.

As they run from the intruders, Jin tells them to target the masters. They discuss what happens when you kill a master. Daemons contracts are broken and become bound to their location. If no new contract emerges the daemons are “forgotten”, and “cease to exist”, after a few decades. Yuru feels this is too “harsh”, of a consequence and decides that he won’t kill the masters if he can help it. Yuru asks Jin for a bow and arrow, and picks a simple one. He shoots.
