Episode #2 – That Day: The Fall of Shiganshina, Part 2
This episode started off where the last one ended (obviously) gruesome and dark. The faces of the titans are more pronounced in this episode. They appeared to be smiling but manage to give off the simultaneous impression that they’re not emotionally present. I think that the fact that the character “Hannes” actually admits his fear, it feels new and refreshing. Eren and Mikasa are still children and as a result they are inherently weak. The soldiers are cowards and too be honest I couldn’t really blame them. They are up against potentially insurmountable odds.
Personally I wonder why there’s a guard at all, they seem to be most useful directing people to safety. The selfishness of some of the people who refuse to share food with the refugee seemed plausible and realistic . However, part of me still wanted them to get eaten by titans though. The food shortage only improved when a vast amount of the population died. My favorite character so far is Mikasa, she’s very tough while still maintaining a leveled head. Eren and Mikasa joined the army at the end of this episode.
