My Hero Academia Season 8, Episode 1: Toshinori Yagi: Rising/Origin

Far in the future, on a bright spring morning, Izuku reflects on the war — remembering Operation Troy, the Heroes’ best chance to turn the tide against the Villains. As he holds a fallen cherry blossom petal, he recalls the height of the battle, when the “winds howled and the world seemed to tremble.”

Back in the present, All Might’s desperate fight against the rewinding All For One rages on. Soaring through the city’s narrow alleys, he uses his “Tentacole” and “Froppy Suction Pads” to stay ahead, darting around corners with precision. He’s stalling. All Might knows that if he can keep dodging, All For One’s frustration will grow… and that might just buy the others enough time.

Beaten up and running on fumes, All Might doesn’t back down. He equips “Shoto” and “Tailman,” planning to deal heavy damage and speed up All For One’s rewinding. However, the move takes a massive amount of energy, but All Might’ has to risk it. He calls out to “Anima,” two bird-like drones flying overhead, to help him pull it off.

All For One suddenly appears and mocks him, saying he’s already figured out his plan. He unleashes a web of Rivet Stab tendrils through the walls, forcing All Might to dodge. AFO boasts that he can kill All Might and still conserve energy, summoning two huge tendrils with monstrous heads to chase him down. All Might calls him a “liar,” but AFO insists his attacks barely “use any power.” He taunts All Might, saying he’s “lost his smile” and is “nothing more than a frail old man pretending to be a hero.”

AFO slams through the building and punches All Might right in his old wound, sending him crashing to the ground. But All Might gets up. He fights back, using “Tentacole” to trap AFO and firing a storm of ice from “Shoto” straight into his mouth.

As the storm rages, All Might looks up at the sky and spots something shining above. He tells All For One that “even if his light goes out, someone else will carry it on.”

Can’t Stop Twinkling and Invisible Girl win

Back at the parking lot where Operation Troy started, Kunieda easily takes down Can’t Stop Twinkling and the Heroes. He uses his grove of special plants to trap everyone and drain their flesh and energy, even stealing the fat that powers Fat Gum’s Quirk. Can’t Stop Twinkling is badly hurt, and his Navel Laser keeps misfiring since his Sparkle Belt was destroyed. Still, Fat Gum tells him to give it everything he’s got.

As Kunieda watches his plants evolve into something even more carnivorous, he calls Can’t Stop Twinkling a disgrace and crushes the lens from his broken belt. Remembering when his parents first gave him that belt, Can’t Stop Twinkling admits he’s always felt “like a failure”—but now, seeing the light of his classmates, he wants to create one of his own.

He fires a messy burst of Navel Lasers, and Kunieda mocks him for missing every shot. But from behind, Invisible Girl suddenly appears, gathering the stray lasers into one giant ball of light. She reflects it back at Kunieda with Warp Refraction: Navel Laser, taking the Villain down for good.

All Might and AFO battle in front of the world

At the same time, the “Anima” drones fly toward All Might’s location, dragging cables from a nearby power station. They connect to a floating laser cannon. Hercules confirms the link and charges the weapon, aiming it right at the battlefield. As All For One crushes “Shoto” in his teeth, Hercules announces the cannon is ready and locked onto the Villain.

All Might laughs and tells All For One to remember the name that’s about to burn him. Hercules then fires the big attack All Might was setting up — “Can’t Stop Twinkling,” a massive laser that hits All For One point-blank and starts burning him alive. All Might sacrifices the “Tentacole” arms to dodge at the last second, but the power overload makes the beam unstable. Hercules warns they can’t keep it up much longer.

All Might insists they keep firing so All For One can’t escape. The heat from the blast melts nearby buildings. He tries to copy Star and Stripe’s Keraunos, but he doesn’t have enough power to maintain it. Instead, he uses “Sound Wave Vibration: Earphone Jack” to hold All For One in place and relies on the “Invisible Girl” resin armor to survive the heat.

The setup works, but it costs him “Tailman,” which he used to block a hit to the gut, and both his legs. AFO manages to break through, smacking All Might away with Rivet Stab tendrils as he crawls out of the blast zone. All Might counters with “Armor Morphing: Creati,” transforming his right arm into “Binding Rounds: Grape Juice.” The orbs expand midair, pinning All For One’s hands to the ground.

The scene cuts to people around the world watching the live broadcast. In another country, a boy asks his grandmother who the “skinny, dark man” on TV is. She says she doesn’t know — she doesn’t follow Heroes. When he asks what happens if All Might wins or loses, she says it’s not their concern. But as the feed lingers on the battered All Might, the boy keeps watching, hands clenched.

Hero Killer Stain arrives

Back in Japan, Hercules warns All Might that the machine can’t take any more before it finally explodes—signaling the end of “Can’t Stop Twinkling.” From the center of the crater, All For One crawls out, now younger and glowing a dull yellow-orange. Without hesitation, All Might charges in. All For One mocks him to “remember to smile” before firing an Air Cannon his way. All Might narrowly dodges, but AFO launches forward in a flash, using a yellow ring of energy, and lands a brutal backhand that sends All Might crashing into the crater’s edge.

As All Might tries to stand, All For One taunts him, saying he’s lost everything and can do nothing but crawl in agony. A twisted growth bursts from his shoulder, forming a cluster of jagged spikes as he prepares to finish All Might off—just like before. But suddenly, his body freezes. From above, the Hero Killer Stain appears on a mechanical glider, licking All For One’s blood off a chunk of concrete to trigger his Bloodcurdle Quirk. Realizing what’s happening, All Might smiles and rushes forward again, as Stain cheers him on to take down their shared enemy.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, the battle with Kunieda begins to settle. Invisible Girl pins the burnt Villain to the ground, but “Can’t Stop Twinkling” notices she’s become almost completely visible. Flustered, she hides, and he quickly apologizes—too injured and exhausted to react to the awkward moment.
