Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 2: “One More Time”, opens with Naoya speed blitzing Choso. He at first overwhelms Choso who cannot figure out his technique. As I mentioned in my last review, Naoya doesn’t pack much of a punch. He uses a knife to cut Choso’s stomach, compensating for this lack of power. Naoya hates the use of weapons, claiming that weapons aren’t “cool,” and that other sorcerers are pathetic when the use them so openly.
Naoya, like many sorcerers are familiar with the Blood Manipulation abilities but not Choso’s, Death Painting Womb abilities. As a result, he miscalculates and Choso uses a flood of blood, Slicing Exorcism, Piercing Blood, and Supernova to defeat Naoya. Suddenly, Yuta appears behind him with an unconscious Yuji and knocks Choso to the ground. Yuta offers to heal Naoya if he tells the superiors that Yuji is dead.
Yuji’s mom is Kenjaku
In a flashback, we see Yuji’s parents and grandfather through the eyes of baby Yuji. His grandfather tells his father that his mother is dead and he shouldn’t stay with her. Yuji’s mother has visible stitches on her forehead, meaning that Kenjaku has taken over her dead body. When Yuji awakens Yuta explains that Gojo told him to keep an eye on him. He put on an act for the higher ups but had to enter a binding vow to kill Yuji. Confused, Yuji asks “why he still alive then?” Yuta reveals that “the very instant his heart stopped, he healed him with reversed cursed technique.”
Megumi reappears, asking Yuji for his help. He reveal that Kenjaku has started the “Culling Game,” and his sister Tsumiki is going to be forced into the tournament. The Culling Game rules are as followed:
- Players must declare their participation at any given barrier within 19 days after awakening a cursed technique.
- Players who break the first rule could have their cursed technique removed.
- Non-players who enter the barrier become players and are considered to have declared their participation.
- Points are scored by killing other players.
- Points are determined by the game master, with sorcerers worth five points and non-sorcerers one point.
- Players may spend 100 points (excluding the value of their own life) with the game master to add one new rule.
- The game master must accept any new rule except those that have a considerable and prolonged effect on the game.
- Players could have their cursed technique removed if their score stays the same for 19 days.
Master Tengen’s Shrine
Yuji, Yuta, Choso, and Megumi regroup with Yuki and Maki. Yuta is surprised to see Maki up and about after she survived the encounter with Jogo. Yuki explains that Maki survived due to her Heavenly Restriction, but the burn scars cannot be healed. Choso informs on what they’re doing. They enter the Tombs of the Star Corridor, where Yuji notices the bloodstains from the encounter with Toji Fushiguro. The find the Corridor to be an empty white space. Yuki claims that Tengen is “rejecting,” them. The begin to leave before Tengen appears.
