The Cross-Eyes try to dump the Landlady’s body by putting it back in her mansion to avoid attention. Since she was a top-tier magic user, her death could cause serious problems. Saji, coming back from a job, tells Ushishimada to relax and stop blaming Risu. He reminds him that thanks to Risu they’re still together and now own the house.
Using Ton’s knife throwing and Ushishimada’s strength, they break through the mansion’s security and sneak inside. Inside, they find a huge portrait of Ushishimada, which throws him off a bit. They try to stage a bathtub death, but when they drop the body in, water splashes everywhere and ruins it.
They switch to a suicide setup. After putting a swimsuit on the body, they try hanging her upstairs. While they’re working, Tetsujo asks Dokuga about Risu and whether he really couldn’t kill him. In the middle of it, the Landlady’s body falls onto Dokuga. He manages to hold it up, but then the Diet Bug inside her stomach bursts out and attacks. Tetsujo cuts it down, but Dokuga loses his grip and gets crushed. The room is a complete mess, but Saji calls it good enough.
Asu and the Brutality of Hell
In Hell, a Devil and a magic user preparing for the Devil Exam enter a butcher shop near the entrance. It looks empty, but the Devil explains the shopkeeper is a shadow only Devils can see. After getting some meat, the magic user asks what it is. The Devil just laughs and says it’s from “a certain creature.”
Elsewhere, Chidaruma has Asu chained up in a torture chamber, preparing to strip him of his Devil status. A massive creature appears, even bigger than Chidaruma. He removes Asu’s horn, hollowing out his head, and the creature starts cutting him apart piece by piece. What’s left is a weak magic user—Kawajiri. Chidaruma mocks him as the creature carries off the remains. With his powers gone, Kawajiri knows the spell on Chota will fade soon, but he’s too weak to move and can only regret not being able to help Nikaido.

Nikaido’s Diary
Back in the Magic Users’ world, Kaiman, Nikaido, and Natsuki sit in the East Zagan district eating food from a street vendor. The night before, Chota is in Nikaido’s room wearing lingerie and his mask while no one is around. Before going to sleep, he worries the staff might find his mask, so he looks for a better hiding spot. While searching, he finds Nikaido’s journal and starts reading, curious about her magic.
Nikaido explains that her memories and sense of self are fading because of En’s contract, and the journal is meant to preserve them. She begins with her childhood, growing up in a rural orphanage with her two siblings, raised by an elderly couple. Everything was peaceful until her older sister Yakumo disappeared. Chota gets bored since none of this explains her magic and falls asleep.
The next day he continues reading. Nikaido first used her magic at around three years old, creating a small cube of smoke without understanding it. Later, Yakumo uses her flying magic and finds the body of a murdered child in the forest. Hunters are still nearby, but Kawajiri uses his teleportation magic to get the girls out safely.
Nikaido’s Childhood
Yakumo trains Nikaido in martial arts, and she improves fast. She’s strong enough to pull off advanced acrobatics, but the training takes a toll, leaving lesions on her hands. Kawajiri steps in and tells Yakumo to go easy on her. He also brings a new mask made by a Devil along with some news—he’s been selected for the Devil exam. Yakumo is clearly upset, knowing this means he’ll be leaving. Still, the elderly couple and Nikaido send him off proudly as he teleports away.
Later that night, after finishing her chores, Nikaido practices her magic one last time. She manages to create a smoke box big enough to step inside. She doesn’t realize the consequences tied to using her power.
Ebisu leaves
Back at the mansion, En is desperate to win back “Nikaido” and even tries to enter the bathroom with gifts. As Chota gets ready to head out, Asu’s magic suddenly wears off. While changing, he notices En’s contract on the floor and realizes it was used to turn him into Nikaido. Before he can do anything, En bursts in to check on things and finds Chota instead. Furious, he grabs the bird-masked sorcerer and demands answers. After a quick explanation, En realizes the kind Nikaido he knew was just Chota in disguise. He moves to turn him into mushrooms, but during the struggle the contract is torn in half, causing En to collapse.
Elsewhere, Fujita goes to give Ebisu her salary but spots her leaving the mansion. He tries to ignore it, but ends up chasing after her. When he catches up, he asks why she’s leaving. Ebisu tells him her memories have returned and she doesn’t want to stay anymore. She simply says “bye-bye” and walks off.
