Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 3, “Dera and Hana,” this episode expands the world by focusing on Hana Danno and Ryu Tadera (Dera). Hana gives Yuru new clothes so he could fit in the modern world better. She also gives him some seaweed-covered rice balls, which Yuru loves. Dera and Hana go into the rest stop restaurant. Dera explains what happened in the village and they discuss future plans. For some reason, Dera thinks he and Hana should get married in order to “protect” Yuru.
We learn a few things about Daemons. They don’t eat human food, they can’t be seen by most humans, except a few special ones, but they can choose to reveal themselves if they want. Dera informs Yuru of the history of the Kagemori Clan. A rumor developed claiming that an underground network had one of the “twins”.
Yuru’s powers
Elsewhere, a woman is being chased by a man into an elevator. Suddenly, the woman transforms into a angler fish Daemon and consumes the knife wielding stalker. The real woman reaches the elevator and is terrified to witness the Daemon. The Daemon’s belong to Jin and he asks the woman not to tell anyone.
Back in the car, Dera tells Yuru of the legend regarding him and his sister. According to Dera, “if a twin boy and girl are born in a village to the east on a day when day and night are equal, the world will be “torn apart.” Right remembers that it happened 400 years prior, splitting nations into East and West. He notes that the twins didn’t start the wars but the nations that wanted to control them.
Right tells Yuru that Asa used the power, “break” or “unravel”. The other power that Yuru is to claim is “seal” or “close”. No one has had both powers, according to Left, so we don’t know what happens when they do. Despite, Hana and Dera’s help, Yuru doesn’t trust them yet. He tells Right and Left that he needs to capture Asa and make her tell him the truth.
