Top 10 Strongest My Hero Academia Quirks (Part 2)

Check out the first half of this list here.

5. Rewind

Quirk Type: Emitter

A Quirk created as a result of a rare mutation, Eri’s Rewind ability isn’t connected to her family. Eri has the ability to “reverse a living being’s body back to a previous state.” Kai Chisaki claimed that he Quirk was so powerful that Eri could “rewind genetics.” Due to Eri’s current age she lacks control over her ability. Through training with Shota Aizawa, she has developed greater control. Her Quirk can bring back injures and undo them. If she can’t control herself she could erase someone from existence. Rewind’s effects are limited to organic materials.

4. Decay

Quirk Type: Emitter

Tomura Shigaraki’s Decay Quirk is a mutation like Eri’s Rewind. He can destroy anything her touches with his hands. Whether it’s organic material or not, he can revert everything to dust. The Decay effect can function like a chain, spreading from where Tomura touched. If he touches a person, they will need to cut of the infected limb other wise their body will rot. Due to Tomura having to touch with his fingers his Quirk can be limited if he ever lost his hands.

3. Overhaul

Quirk Type: Emitter

Overhaul is a Quirk that’s similar to Tomura’s Decay. However, unlike Tomura’s Quirk, Kai Chisaki’s Overhaul ability let’s him destroy and reassemble. Kai can target specific parts of the human body, destroy it, restore it, or transform it. It’s an instant process and can work on living and non-living things. Kai can form “holes, walls, spikes, and platforms anywhere in his surroundings from a single point.” Overhaul permits Kai to combine two different objects including different beings, allowing the user to use both of their Quirks. In the series, Kai lost his arms after Tomura Shigaraki and Atsuhiro Sako destroyed them. He can no longer use his Quirk. Regardless, it’s one of the most versatile Quirks.

2. One For All

One For All is the current Quirk of Izuku Midoriya. It’s a transferable Quirk that must be willingly given. For this reason One For All cannot be stolen by All For One. One For All allows it’s user to stockpile raw power, enhancing all physical abilities to a super human level. The power can be focused on a single body part or spread throughout the body. If the user already has a Quirk, One For All can increase its power as well. One For All increases in power when transferred from user to user. Izuku is the only user to have access the Quirks of the previous users making his version the strongest. One For All also allows the user to have access to the consciousnesses of previous users.

Despite all this power, One For All has a few limitations. First, the Quirk requires the user to be strong enough to handle it. If they’re too weak the user can be blown apart. One For All can deplete the lifespan of the user if they have another Quirk. It has been speculated by previous users that One For All can be stolen if the collective will of its users are overwhelmed. The assimilated Quirks One For All possess, an unknown Quirk, Fa Jin, Danger Sense, Blackwhip, Smokescreen, and Float are weak on their own but together have potential.

1. All For One

Tomura Shigaraki is the current user of All For One. The Quirk grants the user the ability to steal Quirks from others and use them. Furthermore, the user can bestow Quirks onto others. All For One can combine Quirks, resulting in new and more powerful techniques. Unlike One For All, All For One can absorb more than one Quirk at a time. All For One can render someone a mindless doll if given to a weak host. The effectiveness of the Quirks stolen by All For One is limited by the abilities of the user.

The original All For One user claimed “he did not want to steal Best Jeanist’s Fiber Master, as it required too much training and experience to truly master.” Dr. Kyudai claims that if the “memory” (amount of power of the Quirk) exceeds the “hardware” (the body of the user) then it will cause problem. The amount of Quirks that can be used or stolen is limited by the health of the users body. After All For One absorbed Dr. Kyudai’s Life Force Quirk, the user is granted “agelessness.”

The top two Quirks were always going to be One For All and All For One. I think One For All is overall weaker because it can only gain new Quirks from one user at a time. Furthermore, only the Quirkless can make good use of One For All, which means less than 20% of humanity can use it. With that population declining eventually One For All might become difficult to use.

What do you think? Is All For One better than One For All? What about the top ten?

Chapter 283 – ’75’

Gigantomachia rampages towards Tomura Shigaraki. The younger heroes are left alone. Majestic used his Quirk to rescue them. Most of the heroes are confused by the events that lead to this defeat. The sedative seems to have failed. Elsewhere, Kyudai Garaki tells the heroes that they have not “slipped up,” but Gigantomachia is a “calamity that lives and dies for the sake of his master.” Garaki reveals that all the Nomu’s are modeled after Gigantomachia. Like most of the “Nomu” in Tomura’s employ, Gigantomachia has several Quirks. According to Doctor Garaki, he has an energy Quirk, that allows him to convert morale into energy and stamina. He has two other unnamed Quirks, one that numbs pain and the other that allows the bones to grow.

Back at the battle, Shoto uses his ice to cool down his father. Eraser Head is being tended to by Manual and Rock Lock that are trying to deal with his newly severed leg. Rock Lock tells Deku to flee. Deku is dealing with a lot of emotions all at once. He’s teary-eyed and enraged at the “death” of Gran Torino. Tomura announces that it’s time for the heroes “to die.” However, his body begins to tear and gush blood. Deku realizes that as his body, Tomura’s Quirks are too much for him. It’s also the case that his body was never completed (stopped at 75%) and he may always have this limit. I think this is important otherwise Tomura would be too powerful at least at the beginning.

The value of Deku’s experience

Regardless, Tomura heals and uses his decay Quirk. Suddenly, Deku uses his Blackwhip and Float Quirk to rescue save his friends. Shimura’s Float Quirk seemed to be useless to me, but maybe it does have some value if used with other Quirks. Gran Torino remains alive but is unlikely to survive. I think he will get an opportunity to say goodbye to Deku. I have commented that Deku will need to master his six Quirks to be a threat to Tomura. However, both are in the process of learning the many Quirks the currently possess. That said, Deku is still ahead of Tomura who has just mastered the Quirk he was born with. With that advantage, Deku may have a chance. Victory isn’t possible but escapes maybe.

My Hero Academia Chapter 270: Tomura awakens as the new All For One

Quirk Singularity Theory

My Hero Academia chapter 270, Inheritance, reveals how much power Tomura was given as he wake up. As Present Mic is dragging Dr. Kyudai Garaki away, the later mentions how his 70 year theory, called Quirk Singularity or Paranormal Singularity Theory was dismissed by society. The theory agrues that “as the generations follow one another, Quirks blend and evolve, producing stronger and more complex Quirks. However, with this increase in power, the Quirks will also become more difficult to control, since the human body doesn’t evolve quickly enough to keep up.” This theory can be seen to effect All For One. He has noted that some Quirks require more time to master than others and he rather not bother stealing them. This theory could be a explanation for the natural limitation to the All For One Quirk.

Qurik transfer and Life Force

Kyudai tells Present Mic that All For One was the only one that believed in his theory and htat he “extended his hand to him.” Grateful, Dr. Kyudai developed a reverence for All For One. That’s why he gave All For One his Life Force Quirk. Giving the user “twice the vitality of others at the cost of his athleticism,” the Quirk is the secret to both Dr. Kyudai and All For One’s longevity. Dr. Kyudai’s ability to scientifically duplicate Quirks is broken. However, it seems likely that Dr. Kyudai has lost his ability to do it after the heroes destoryed his lab. Tomura will likely be the last benificary of the process and considering that it was interruprted it (All For One) may not fuction properly.

Shigaraki awakens

I’ve been waiting for weeks for Tomura to wake up and start devastating the heroes rank. I assumed he would do it with his original Quirk and some enhancements, but now he can deliver even more damage. However, it all depends on whether his Quirk starts from zero or comes preloaded with all the Quirks All For One already stole. Its unclear how long it took All For One to steal a Quirk, but I doubt it’s instant. I’ve been preparing for some heroes to die (I think some will) but now some of them might lose their Quirks as well. I think My Hero Academia chapter 270 gave us a hint as to who might lose their Quirk first, Erasure Head.
