In the last episode of Solo Leveling, Sung Jinwoo and Yoo Jinho were betrayed by the hunters they joined on a C-Ranked hunt. They were abandoned to face the Dungeon Boss, but Sung decided to fight it alone. The hunters plan was to avoid fighting the spider altogether. They assume that the spider is too strong. As such, Sung and Yoo stand no chance. Inside the dungeon, Yoo agrees that they’re too weak. If they were B-Rank they could handle the Boss but their ranking is simply too low. Sung isn’t afraid and is will to try.

Yoo is surprised to see Sung’s movement. While Sung is able to move at a high pace and avoid the spiders attacks, he can’t do any damage to it’s thick skin. On top of this he’s starting to become fatigue. Sung needs to defeat the spider before he becomes too tired. His daggers “paralysis and drain,” abilities will be important to his victory but he needs to target a weak spot. Sung charges towards the spider then it spits acid at Sung. He tries a new skill, Dash.

Sung takes the Spider Boss down

He hits the spider with a barrage of attacks but nothing seems to work. When his fatigued hits 70 percent, he slows down and gets hit by the spider. Before the spider crushes him, he suddenly heals, using his daily quest award. With his new burst of energy, Sung manages to get his hit in. He stabs the spider in the eyes multiple times. The abilities of his dagger, trigger multiple items. The spider boss collapses and Sung gains some levels.

For the last few episodes, as we focus on the main quest with Sung, we get short scenes with the heads of the hunter organization. This time the Chairman spars with his driver. Each one is primarily a showcase of the impressive power they have. They also expand the world and commentate on the dynamics between hunters. Solo Leveling is letting see how top tier fighters strength compares to Sung and the others. As the story progresses, Sung is likely to become as strong if not stronger. In the meantime, we will follow him as he progresses.

Sung has a new quest – kill hunters

Up until this moment Sung hadn’t had to face to possibility to killing other humans. However, this moment was always going to arrive especially after the hunter betrayal. When they return they demand Yoo kill Sung but he refuses. While the hunter approach Sung and Yoo, a notification window appears reading the “an urgent quest has arrived: Defeat the Enemies.” The game clearly wants Sung alive and threatens to penalize Sung if he doesn’t kill them. Kyuhwan attacks Sung. This assault seems to dramatically change Sung’s perspective as he may have been hesitant to kill before. Pissed, he decides to complete the quest.

Sung dominates the hunters in brutal fashion. He decapitates one, then pierces another in the neck. The negative effects of his dagger trigger with two of the hunters, causing them to hemorrhage blood from the mouth, eyes, and ears. He finishes the boss with another decapitation, but not before we are reminded that his brother is someone powerful. Obviously, Mr. Dongsoo brother will seek revenge at some point in the future. Afterward, Sung and Yoo are rewarded for completing the curse a full recovery, 10 ability points, and the skill: Murderous Intent, which causes the debuff panic and cut “all abilities in half.” We see a muscle bound man, I assume is the brother. I wonder how much stronger than Sung he is right now.
