The Steel-Fanged Lycan attacks, Sung does some acrobatic dodging. Then he lands a hit on the beast. His stats appeared to have increased, resulting in greater strength. However, the Lycan is still stronger than he is. As a result, his attacks don’t do damage. Sung retrieves a sword from his inventory and splits that Lycan in two. He levels up and the damage is healed. Two more Lycan arrive but when Sung kills one the other flees.

Looking at his inventory, Sung realizes that fighting nets him more experience than training. He receives a tooth from the pop up windows and sells it in the store. As Sung mumbles to himself about is future plans the other Lycan returns with several more Lycan. Sung prepares and fights all of them. Determined to get stronger, he slaughters the Lycan and reaches the level of “Wolf Assassin.” This grants him the bonus of “all abilities +40,” against “animal-type monsters.” Overall, Sung killed 34 wolves and got a fang off of each, two worn daggers, a cloak, and one teleportation stone.

It was too easy

Solo Leveling really replicates the experience of playing a game well. Any gamer will find the interface and the reward system to be familiar. Sung decided against leaving the dungeon and instead chooses to grind. He kills a Razor-Clawed Briga and a Black-Shadow Razan. Sung explains the the color of the type in the name is determine by the creatures strength relative to him. The white type means the create is “relatively weak,” Orange means they’re equal to him, and red means they’re “strong.” Having reached level 15, Sung heads down a long stairwell where a strong beast awaits.

The King of the Swamp: Blue Venom-Fanged Kasaka breaks Sung’s already brittle sword. It’s armor is too thick to pierce and the Kasaka flings Sung around. Determine and tried of being mocked for his “weakness,” tears the snake apart with bare hands. For his victory, he earns a Kasaka’s Venom Fang dagger. With the boss defeated the dungeon disappears. Before Sung can return home he encounters a solider that notices that he’s a hunter and brings him to battle the monsters.

Only the boss remains. With E-Ranks, D-Ranks, and one B-Rank, Lee Joohee. Still frighten from the events of the previous dungeon, she’s unable to heal. Sung doesn’t like their chances. He tosses what remains of his broken sword into the creates barrier destroying it. This allows the other hunter to take down the beast. Sung escapes into the alley and is shocked that it was so easy.
