In One Piece Episode 1113, “Run, Koby! A Desperate Escape Strategy!”, Persona helps Koby escape from Blackbeard’s prison on Hachinosu. She was looking for her former Captain, Moria, who was captured by Blackbeard. In exchange for freeing him, Persona asks Koby to release all the other prisoners including Moria. One of Blackbeard’s ten pirates captains, Avalo Pizarro, orders the other pirates to recapture the prisoners but don’t kill them.
He’s assigned a five star bounty for Koby which equated to 500 million Bellies. This inspired a mob of bounty hunters to search for Koby. To give his fellow prisoners a chance, Koby separates from them to lure his pursuers away. Koby recalls a conversation with Blackbeard. He claimed that he wanted to have a deal with the World Government that exchanges Koby for Hachinosu to be admitted into the World Government.
The meaning of SWORD
Kuzan advised Blackbeard against making that kind of deal as Koby is a member of SWORD. A Secret Special Force, SWORD, according to Kuzan is full of Marines that resigned from the command structure of the Marines while still operating on the industries behalf. They’re allow to disregard any orders and make any decision they need to. In return, the Marines and the World Government can assume no responsibility for the members of SWORD engaged in.
SWORD members can even become pirates like X Drake. They can also station themselves in Marine bases and join Marine squads missions. They can come into conflict with CP0, who don’t have issues with killing SWORD members. As the bounty hunters chase Koby, they meet Kujaku and another member of SWORD that has a Logia clay ability. Finally, Garp and Tashigi prepare to attack form a ship above.
