Blackbeard targets the Heart Pirates submarine forcing them onto a nearby island. Shockingly, Law and his crew turn into women, a result of Doc Q’s Shiku Shiku no Mi. Despite Blackbeard’s importance to the series his crew has only been seen in limited fashion. Oda likes to continue the arc of other characters behind the scene and the Blackbeard Pirates have been busy. Blackbeard and his crew hunted the Whitebeard Pirates during the “Payback War,” resulting in him taking over Whitebeards position as one of the Four Emperors. The Blackbeard Pirates have also been hunting strong Devil Fruit and stealing them from their users.
Blackbeard’s overwhelming power
The crew’s size has been increased to ten divisions lead by the “Ten Titanic Captains,” Jesus Burgess (First Ship), Shiryu (Second Ship), Van Augur (Third Ship), Avalo Pizarro (Fourth Ship), Laffitte (Fifth Ship), Catarina Devon (Sixth Ship), Sanjuan Wolf (Seventh Ship), Vasco Shot (Eighth Ship), Doc Q (Ninth Ship), and Kuzan (Tenth Ship). The Blackbeard Pirates attacked the Heart Pirates in search of the copies of the Road Poneglyph. I predicted in the end of my previous review that I didn’t think the Heart Pirates stood a chance. It looks like they didn’t. While Law faces off against Blackbeard, he orders his crew to head to the sea. He uses his R-ROOM and Amputate to cut Doc Q’s horse, Stronger in half. This sends Blackbeard and Doc Q crashing down. However, Blackbeard uses Tremor Crush to cushion his fall. As a result of using this ability, the island shakes and the ground breaks up.
When Van Augur takes aim at Law, Bepo uses his hearing to tell Jean Bart where to shield Law. Meanwhile, Law pierces Blackbeard and uses Shock Wille, causing Blackbeard pain. Part of Blackbeard’s characterization is his reckless, goofy mannerisms. This can make him seem like a bumbling idiot. According to Van Augur, Blackbeard didn’t have a plan. Elsewhere, it’s revealed that Blackbeard had Kuzan and Van Augur kidnap Pudding. When Law tries to attack Blackbeard with K-ROOM, Blackbeard blocks it and covers Law with Kurouzu.
