Over 70,000 Seii soldiers invaded Okuetsu and the victory was overwhelming. Seii took control of local resources and other key strategic strongholds. The Yamato forces fled to Reihoku. Ryumon and his forces arrived at Reihoku an hour after Okuetsu’s fall. Ryumon decides that they need to pull forces into one place and abandoned their territories for now. They could always regain their territories but they could never bring back the dead.
Nagao Muuton decides that it’s time to kill the Yamato soldiers. They arrive in silence and begin to slaughter them. Vice-General Sugou takes on several soldiers alone and while tied up. He manages to avoid direct sword strikes and uses his feet and head to overwhelm the assassins. Suddenly, Chief Librarian Taira shoots the remaining soldiers, alerting Muuton and his men.
Sugou and Tiara join forces
Tiara seems rattled, as his father apparently told him that there was no danger. He cuts Sugou free and they join forces to escape. Tiara apologizes for his behavior and takes responsibility for his actions. As they’re trying to flee, Tiara is shot in the back. Nagao Muuton prepares to execute them when he’s shoot twice in the chest. General of the Border District’s Unit Left Vice General, Nagamine Shiryou arrives with reinforces under Kaku’s orders.
The Night Attack on Kanazawa was planned by Nagao Muuton but it was a failure. The Yamato’s forces lost over a hundred officers and soldiers in battle. Five days later, Tsune and Aoteru witness a protest. The protesters demand the “barbarians (Seii)” should be “exterminated,” and Seii should be “annex.” Aoteru is suspicious. They assume that General Tiara is responsible. Suddenly, Aoteru remembers something and runs off.
