Nippon Sangoku: The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun Episode 3 – A Talented Dictator Emerges

General Mitsuhide calls Tsune’s attempt to cut his legs off “half-assed”, but Tsune manages to get behind him a kick him in the back. After stumbling forward, General Mitsuhide is forced to knee to get his balance. He passes Tsune. Everyone questions Tsune’s ethics. General Mitsuhide asks his name and after apologizing he tells him his name is Yoshitsune Asama. With three minutes remaining, Aoteru begins his turn.

He first hands General Mitsuhide a present. It’s a policy proposal on Agriculture. The General begins to read it and quickly calls his Kaku to read as well. As he does so, Aoteru explains why his proposal would be helpful in the war effort. General Mitsuhide is impressed but still asks “How will Aoteru make him kneel.” Aoteru responds that he can’t. Without combat skills he has no chance. Instead he offers his proposal even without receiving credit for it. This selflessness and dedication to the war seems to impress the General even more. He bows, passing Aoteru.

General Mitsuhide is astonished that he meet two talented men with potential in “art of war” (Tsune) and “wisdom” (Aoteru).

The Cowardly Emperor and the court council

In Osaka, three years later, the court council begins when Yamato’s Emperor Fuji appears. Unfortunately, Taira Denki is in the bathroom. It’s clear that Denki has not respect for the Emperor and Fuji is scared of Denki. Taira finally arrives and sneezes rather loudly. He then sits in front of the Emperor. General Mitsuhide reveals that Aoteru’s proposal was a success and they have manage to increase their stationed soldiers to around 100,000.

Half the room is surprised and the other half is pleased. The Emperor admits to himself that he doesn’t understand and Taira calls his bluff. He explains why Aoteru’s plan worked. While Taira continues to disgraced the Emperor, General Mitsuhide hates the disrespect and the domination the Taira Clan shows. Kaku discusses with the General’s other allies that the General and his corps is the biggest obstacle to Taira Denki’s power.

Death penalty within five seconds

Back at the meeting, General Mitsuhide explains that the country of Seii is in disarray. He warns the Emperor that a “dictator” could take advantage of the chaos and recommends that they negotiate a ceasefire. Denki, probably realizing that the general is talking about him, calls General Mitsuhide a “timid” coward. He reveals that he’s already sent a message to Seii to surrender. Everyone in Mitsuhide’s corps is shocked.

General Mitsuhide humbles himself by bowing to Denki and asking him to reconsider. He refuses. Enraged by his overreach several members berate Denki and even call for his execution. Their rewarded for their outburst with decapitations. Petrified, the Emperor runs out having peed himself. The meeting ends with General Mitsuhide still bowing. Denki Taira tells him that he won’t be “rising up,” yet.

Later, Tsune is granted the title of Deputy Master of Arms and Aoteru is granted the title of Auditor of the Borderland General Corps. In Seii, Commander-in-Chief Wajima is informed that the President of Seii has received the notice to surrender. She thanks him for the report.
