Kaiju No. 8, Season 2, Episode 6 starts with Kaiju No. 10 in Defense Force custody. Hoshina questions it about Kaiju No. 9 and learns the truth—Kaiju No. 9 is the one who created it. Kaiju No. 10 offers information but only if it’s turned into a weapon for Hoshina to use. It’s noted that an intelligent Kaiju has never been turned into a weapon. Hoshina finds Kaiju No. 10 creepy for it’s bloodlust. He decides to agree despite the risks.
A few days later, Hoshina’s team heads to HQ. Narumi teases them, showing the rivalry between their squads. The two squads squabble over silly slights in a comical moment. In the meeting, Hoshina reveals that Kaiju No. 9 created Kaiju No. 10, proving it’s the first kaiju capable of making others—and even more dangerous than before.
Reno and Kaiju No. 6
Kaiju No. 10 is revealed to be just a prototype. Hoshina warns that if No. 9 can’t be stopped, the whole country is in danger. Mina then drops a bombshell—the Defense Force is preparing to give Kaiju No. 6’s power to a rookie, and the one chosen is Reno. No. 6 is considered to be the most powerful of the Kaiju, called the King of Kaiju.
The captain cautions him about the risks, but Reno refuses to back down. His first attempt leaves him hospitalized after the weapon overwhelms his body. Even so, Reno won’t quit. The captain finally agrees to a one-month trial: if Reno can prove himself in a real mission, only then will he be allowed to wield Kaiju No. 6.
