Fire Force Season 3, Episode 7: “Sleeping Truth”

Fire Force Season 3 Episode 7, “Sleeping Truth,” picks up right where the last episode ended. Benimaru shows up in a terrible disguise to rescue Company 8 and Captain Obi from the White Clad. The disguise doesn’t fool anyone—not even Benimaru seems to believe in it—but it leads to a quick and awkward showdown. His arrival is flashy, with his usual flaming banners making it obvious who he is.

Before they leave, Benimaru takes on some of the White Clad, including Dragon. He easily holds them off, showing once again how strong he is. It’s a quick fight that mostly serves to remind us of his skills, but compared to the last episode’s visuals, it feels a bit flat. A more standout moment or flashy sequence would’ve helped make the scene hit harder.

Company 8 regroups

Even after the heroes escape, the episode stays with the White Clad. Turns out, the escape was never a problem—it was all part of Haumea’s plan. It doesn’t seem like a big deal now, but it might hurt the story later if the tension keeps getting undercut like this.

Back in Asakusa, the wounded get treated while Obi catches Benimaru up. He fills him in on the alliance against Company 8, the White Clad’s latest moves, and how Captain Burns’s supposed death is likely to turn public opinion against them. Even when the White Clad “loses,” their plan keeps moving forward, and the image of Company 8 becomes worst.

Hibana’s shocking discovery

With the main crew regrouping, the second half of the episode switches to Hibana who is following the doppelganger case. Her search leads them to one place: the orphanage where Hibana and Iris grew up. Mixed into the search for answers is a look at life in the orphanage before the fire. The visuals are soft and watercolor-like, but instead of making things feel warm, they come off creepy once you realize something’s off. The friendly vibe is a cover for something darker.

That tension builds in the second half of the episode when Hibana, Iris, and Shinra check out the orphanage. Hibana starts to uncover some disturbing stuff about the sisters who raised her and Iris. Her reaction hits hard, especially since she’s usually so cold and in control.

She begins to break down—crying, and almost throwing up from what she discovers. She’s usually a more commanding presence, but here, she’s just a scared girl facing a painful truth about her past.
