Back at the Cross-Eyes hideout, Dokuga is lying in his room (which is really just the bathroom) staring at the ceiling when Tetsujo walks in. He asks what “he” is doing. Tetsujo says Risu is just passed out on the floor and then asks if Dokuga knows who killed him. Dokuga says yes and even claims he was there when it happened. Right after that, the letter Kento wrote earlier finally shows up. Once they read it, they decide they’re heading back to the cabin.
Over at the cabin, Kento is praying to his “boss” and even offers up some ravioli. The smell wakes Noi, but she immediately gets attacked by one of the men. He tells her Shin is dead, and that’s enough to set her off. She breaks out of her shackles and kills both him and Kento without hesitation. But Kento doesn’t stay down. His body starts growing into something way bigger.
Giant Kento
In the hallway, Shin and Kasukabe are moving through the cabin when Shin finally starts to give out from his injuries. He keeps repeating that he has to find Noi. Kasukabe looks through a blood-covered window and spots her inside the room, but it’s bad. Kento has turned into a giant, deformed monster and is literally eating her alive. Shin rushes in and goes straight for the head, smashing Kento’s face with his hammer and forcing him to release Noi. He checks on her and sees she’s still alive. Around the same time, Kasukabe realizes that the figure Noi saw earlier isn’t a real person, just a wax figure.
Kento keeps growing from the pain and rage until he completely wrecks the room. With barely anything left in the tank, Shin grabs Noi and Kasukabe and gets them out of there. In his last clear moment, Kento crawls over to the wax figure and starts crying, praying for “the boss” to come back. The fire spreads and the entire cabin burns down. As everything collapses, Kasukabe sees the wax figure one last time as it melts, realizing it’s someone he knew a long time ago.
Kusakabe’s wife’s a devil
Kasukabe wakes up to his wife’s voice, but instead finds a Devil holding him. She talks about how long it’s been since she woke him up like that, and to his surprise, it’s actually Haru. She explains she was flying around, got nostalgic, and went back to her old home. She asks if he still publishes books under her name. Sitting on a tree branch, she tells him how she became a Devil. As a gift, Kasukabe gives her back her old bracelet, the one taken from the cross-eye Shin killed. The two share a brief but warm reunion.
Back at the crash site, 13 and Vaux climb out of the wreckage and regroup with the others. 13 mentions feeling bad for the professor since he never got to see his wife again, but Kasukabe reveals that he actually did. Haru is seen flying off into the night.
Elevator to Hell
Meanwhile, in an elevator descending to Hell, Chidaruma questions Asu, who’s chained to a chair. He demands to know why Asu hid someone like Nikaido, a magic user capable of manipulating time. Asu insists that Devils like Chidaruma wouldn’t understand. Irritated, Chidaruma punches his face in, saying that’s exactly why he’s asking, leaving him bloodied as the elevator continues downward.
At the same time, in the ruined city they were teleported to, Kaiman is pissed at Asu for sending them so far away and curses him out in the middle of the street. Nikaido explains it was intentional, so no one could track them down and report back to En, which would restart her contract and turn them into enemies again. She finds a subway entrance, and they realize they’re in Mastema, the city destroyed by En during his fight with the Cross-Eyes boss. Inside the subway is a hidden shopping center. A young girl suddenly approaches them, and Kaiman immediately grabs her by the throat, demanding to know who she is. The girl panics and insists she’s a friend.
Maki meets his end
Natsuki introduces herself as a Cross-Eyes like Kaiman, with Kaiman and Nikaido playing along. She explains that after the upper city was destroyed, non-magic users were forced to live underground. She works under Maki, the leader of the Cross-Eyes who controls the Black Powder trade in the city.
The group heads to a pawn shop to pick up new clothes and weapons. The owner warns Natsuki not to get involved with the Cross-Eyes, calling them scammers who exploit poor people by selling Black Powder. Natsuki insists it’s a misunderstanding and says the Cross-Eyes are trying to help those without magic.
Inside the shop, Kaiman finds a box of strangely familiar clothes. Meanwhile, Natsuki runs into Maki, who immediately punches her and orders her back to work. She takes it without resistance, still believing in her cause. But it’s revealed that the Black Powder is fake. Maki openly mocks the people of Mastema, saying they’re desperate enough to buy anything. Natsuki continues defending the Cross-Eyes, which sets him off. He beats her down until Kaiman steps in.
Natsuki and Kaiman head to Zagan
Kaiman and Natsuki take Maki out together. Natsuki uses her hooks to tear into him while Kaiman finishes the job with his new bayonet knives. Afterward, Natsuki decides to tag along with Kaiman and Nikaido to meet the other Cross-Eyes in Berith, despite Kaiman’s doubts. At the same time, Nikaido is still at the pawn shop with the owner, who grabs her and demands payment for the clothes and weapons.
Elsewhere, Dokuga flies with Tetsujo using a makeshift jetpack toward the Hydra Forest. They arrive to find the cabin completely burned down. Back in Mastema, Natsuki brings Kaiman and Nikaido to her house. Kaiman asks about the route to Berith and how long it takes from Mastema. Natsuki explains it’s fast by magic broom, but since that’s not an option, they’ll have to take the bus and transfer through Zagan.
South Zagan Magical Training School
Nikaido goes to wash up and notices the wound on her back has completely healed, still unsure who attacked her. Dokuga and Tetsujo return with grim news—the Black Powder factory in the forest has been wiped out and everyone inside killed. Panic spreads as the group realizes they may need to evacuate.
Dokuga then asks about Risu. Ton says he hasn’t been paying attention. Dokuga goes to check and finds Risu inside the house. Assuming he’s a thief, he moves in—but Risu, already impatient, demands answers about his killer. The two clash as the situation escalates. Elsewhere, Kaiman and Natsuki heading to Zagan as Kaiman looks through the window and sees and advertising of “South Zagan Magical Training School”.
