One Piece Episode 1119 Recap and Review: “The Entrusted Message! King Cobra’s Resolve”

Cobra was stunned and outraged to find Imu seated on the throne that was meant to be empty. Imu then disclosed the significance of the ‘D.’ initial: it denotes those who possess the ‘Will of D.’, individuals who have historically conspired against the World Government. Notably, many adversaries of the First Twenty and numerous scholars from Ohara bore this initial. Imu further revealed that during the Void Century, Lili’s actions led to the dissemination of Poneglyphs worldwide, creating challenges for the World Government. Imu questioned whether Lili spread them unintentionally or as part of a deliberate plot against the government.

At that moment, the Five Elders drew their weapons, intent on killing Cobra for having seen Imu. Accepting his fate, Cobra revealed that Lili’s full name was Nefertari D. Lili, indicating her connection to the ‘Will of D.’ In response, Imu extended a spear-like appendage from his body, piercing Cobra.

Cobra’s sacrifice

Sabo, who had been eavesdropping, intervened, attempting to rescue Cobra and attack Imu with his Devil Fruit abilities. A Den Den Mushi captured images of him near Cobra’s body as the Five Elders transformed into their awakened Zoan forms. Sabo tried to escape with Cobra but was too slow and was pierced by Imu. Cobra sacrificed himself, urging Sabo to tell Luffy and Vivi that the entire Nefertari family bears the name ‘D.’

Meanwhile, Wapol, who had witnessed the incident through a peephole, panicked, fearing for his life. He chewed through several walls, eventually entering the room where Vivi was tied up. CP0 had captured Vivi to make her “disappear” along with her father, intending to sell her as a slave to a World Noble. Fortunately, Wapol chewed through the room, allowing Vivi to sneak out in his mouth. As they fled Mary Geoise, Wapol’s wife, Kinderella, was outraged to see him with another woman.

“D” is the moniker of our ancient enemy. In recent times, it has cropped up more frequently. However, it is nothing but a faint echo. Those who carry the name do not even know of its true meaning now…

Opinion:

The “Will of D” has been a topic of discussion since the beginning of the series. Many of the most important characters in the series has “D” in their names, most notably Luffy. To finally get some details from Imu is satisfyingly. According to Imu, “the D. was once a label used by enemies of the First Twenty, and who were thus presumably aligned with the Great Kingdom.” The “Clan of D” are considered to be the “natural enemy of God,” or the Celestial Dragons. The children of nobles are warned that if they don’t behave they’ll be “eaten up by “D”.

Most carriers of the “D” are ignorant of it’s origins with only Gol D. Roger learning it’s meaning. The moniker of D is passed down through families that ancestors possessed it previously. The members of the Clan of D aren’t necessary blood related as they are represented in different races. Members of the Clan of D do possess similar characteristics, like their desire to be fearless and spring into action, One of the most notable aspects of the Clan of D is their acceptance of death, often seen smiling or laughing as they die.

One Piece has many secrets, mysteries, and shocking moment to reveal in the future. I’m excited to see what will be shown in the final arc of the series.
