My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 2: “State-of-the-Art Hypersonic Intercontinental Cruise”

In the past, a young Star and Stripe hangs out with her fellow soldiers, lamenting the limitations of how strong New Order can make her. She wonders if it’s because she’s just a girl, but her partners reassure her that it’s simply the nature of her Quirk. They tell her to rely on them for support when needed and advise her not to compare herself to All Might, reminding her that she’s already impressive enough to potentially catch up to him. Hearing this encouragement lifts her spirits.

In the present, the Tiamat missiles head toward the battlefield as Star instructs the pilots to focus their lasers on “Tomura” while she prepares to intercept the missiles. The burned “Tomura” realizes that she’s using the lasers to pin him down and is waiting for a final blow to end the fight, which he begins to sense is rapidly approaching.

Tomura barely survives

As the Tiamat missiles approach, Star leaps forward and taps one of them, using New Order to redirect the entire volley. With the laser rule activated, “Tomura” appears to attempt an escape, but the pilots bombard him with lasers to keep him pinned. Star then utilizes the massive construct of herself to seize the missiles and deliver a devastating “State-of-the-Art Hypersonic Intercontinental Cruise Punch!” to “Tomura.” Meanwhile, Endeavor observes the distant explosion from the mainland.

Star gazes down at the crater left by the missiles and notices a cracked hole at the bottom. “Tomura” gleefully emerges from it, having anticipated Star’s dangerous attack. Using Decay, he quickly burrowed underground to save himself, narrowly avoiding a fatal blow.

Star accepts her fate

As it turns out, he had used the Nomu as a decoy for the pilots, claiming he was merely playing along with their game. He boasts that anyone else in his position would have been doomed. “Tomura” orders the Nomu to explode, and as it bursts, he leaps from jet to jet towards Star, gloating that “me and myself” will make better use of her resources.

One of the pilots urges Star to end him quickly by using her air construct to crush them both in an explosion. However, she hesitates, knowing it won’t be enough due to his Super Regeneration. Despite the pilot’s desperate calls for action, she can’t bring herself to do it. Instead, she smiles faintly as “Tomura” jumps and grabs her face.

Star tries to destroy All For One from the inside

Just as “Tomura” is about to use New Order to manipulate the air, he and All For One are suddenly confronted by Star and Stripe in the vestige world. “Tomura” begins to explode from within, and the pilots quickly realize that Star has done something to him. At the last moment, she used New Order to command the Quirk to rebel against other Quirks. A massive Star and Stripe then starts relentlessly attacking Tomura, All For One, and the vestiges of the other stolen Quirks, while All For One curses her name.

Reflecting on the situation, Star acknowledges that the worst-case scenario would have been her death and her Quirk being stolen. Though she would have preferred to protect her body, she is willing to sacrifice herself to eliminate a global threat. She also expresses gratitude to her comrades for their support. Meanwhile, “Tomura” realizes his Quirks are turning against each other and laments his inability to dispose of Quirks—he can only steal or bestow them. Desperately, he searches for someone to force New Order onto.

Tomura escapes

The pilots unleash a barrage of lasers at “Tomura,” shouting that Star is still fighting within him and urging each other not to let her sacrifice be in vain. The Star and Stripe vestige destroys “Tomura”‘s Reflect, continuing to tear apart Tomura and All For One from within. As Star succumbs to Decay, she reflects on how All Might’s rescue allowed her to live her wonderful dream. She sees this as her way of repaying All Might and gives a final salute to her pilots before decaying away. All For One curses the “specter of All Might,” while the pilots persist with their relentless assault on “Tomura.”

Using the Wing Quirk taken from the Near High-End Nomu just before it was destroyed, “Tomura” frantically tries to flee the battlefield to find someone to transfer New Order to before being obliterated by the fighter jets. As he soars into the sky, evading the pursuing jets, he curses All Might’s existence once more. Meanwhile, one of the pilots gazes at the remains of Star and Stripe, reflecting on her sacrifice and recognizing her as the greatest hero.
