Season 4, Episode 2: Memories of the Holy War
The first episode of season 4 of “The Seven Deadly Sins” was a dud. However, that’s typical for an opening episode of any series. The second episode of Seven Deadly Sins was always going to be better. King and Diane are saddened at the thought of Meliodas being dead. They’re clearly unaware that he is alive. Furthermore, they don’t know that the ten commandments have been defeated. King and Diane are teleported to a cave by the ten commandments, Drole (Patience) and Gloxinia (Repose). Both King and Diane assume they will be killed. The walls of the caves are “elastic” preventing King from making an opening. Gloxinia uses Spirit Spear Basquias, Form Two Guardian. Meanwhile, Diane attacks Drole. He is completely unharmed by them. Diane takes a hit from Drole that according to her would have killed her if she didn’t use “Heavy Metal.”
Determined to survive
However, Diane isn’t deterred. She uses her “Crazy Rush” ability that makes several fist shaped. Drole quickly evades her attacks by “dancing.” Diane’s magic disappears. Drole explains that “the power of Giants doesn’t just come from their muscles,” they can “transform the earth’s power into their own.” He hits her, as she uses Heavy Metal. Elsewhere, King continues to battle against Gloxinia. He uses his ability True Spirit Spear Chastiefol, Form Five. It doesn’t have much impact. Diane and King aren’t powerful enough. Tearful and bloody, King apologizes to Diane for failing to protect her.
A test from Gloxinia
Drole tells Diane and King that they will, now be tested. Gloxinia says that they’re going to “outdo us.” Using Moon Rose Droplet of Life, Gloxinia revives Diane and King. Surprised, King and Diane can’t believe what happened. King thinks that they’re “making fun of them.” Gloxinia and Drole tells them that they’re going to “train them from scratch.” Drole tells them that they’re “too weak.” Still unconvinced, King doesn’t understand their motivation. Drole notes that they’re not demons. They were both former kings, Gloxinia of fairies and Drole of giants. After losing in battle against demons, they became part of ten commandments. They have changed again. Both, King and Diane agree to be trained. Gloxinia casts a spell.
Diane and King verses Meliodas
The spell puts Diane and King in the bodies of Drole and Gloxinia. They meet Meliodas and Elisabeth. King believes that they have been sent 3000 years to a past Britannia. This is before the ten commandments. They head to the Valley of Fossils. A battle is going on and they encounter, Calmadios the Piety of the Ten Commandments. I’m really interested in the narrative from the past. I’m wonder how this is suppose to train Diane and King. Will they actually get stronger psychically or mentally? If they end up fighting in this battle (which seems likely) the probably will learn by experience. Their first obstacle is Calmadios, a giant with six arms. I think he’s going to be a challenge.
