Chapter 283 – ’75’

Gigantomachia rampages towards Tomura Shigaraki. The younger heroes are left alone. Majestic used his Quirk to rescue them. Most of the heroes are confused by the events that lead to this defeat. The sedative seems to have failed. Elsewhere, Kyudai Garaki tells the heroes that they have not “slipped up,” but Gigantomachia is a “calamity that lives and dies for the sake of his master.” Garaki reveals that all the Nomu’s are modeled after Gigantomachia. Like most of the “Nomu” in Tomura’s employ, Gigantomachia has several Quirks. According to Doctor Garaki, he has an energy Quirk, that allows him to convert morale into energy and stamina. He has two other unnamed Quirks, one that numbs pain and the other that allows the bones to grow.

Back at the battle, Shoto uses his ice to cool down his father. Eraser Head is being tended to by Manual and Rock Lock that are trying to deal with his newly severed leg. Rock Lock tells Deku to flee. Deku is dealing with a lot of emotions all at once. He’s teary-eyed and enraged at the “death” of Gran Torino. Tomura announces that it’s time for the heroes “to die.” However, his body begins to tear and gush blood. Deku realizes that as his body, Tomura’s Quirks are too much for him. It’s also the case that his body was never completed (stopped at 75%) and he may always have this limit. I think this is important otherwise Tomura would be too powerful at least at the beginning.

The value of Deku’s experience

Regardless, Tomura heals and uses his decay Quirk. Suddenly, Deku uses his Blackwhip and Float Quirk to rescue save his friends. Shimura’s Float Quirk seemed to be useless to me, but maybe it does have some value if used with other Quirks. Gran Torino remains alive but is unlikely to survive. I think he will get an opportunity to say goodbye to Deku. I have commented that Deku will need to master his six Quirks to be a threat to Tomura. However, both are in the process of learning the many Quirks the currently possess. That said, Deku is still ahead of Tomura who has just mastered the Quirk he was born with. With that advantage, Deku may have a chance. Victory isn’t possible but escapes maybe.

  1. You thought Nana’s Float quirk would be useless? You’ve got so high standards when it comes to quirks, ha!

But, yeah, I do agree both Deku and Shigaraki are still trying to master their quirks. The end result will be a final battle to remember.
