Deku and Shoto are no match

In My Hero Academia Chapter 273, Thrill of Destruction, Deku’s shockwave attack fails to stop the decay. Deku has a flashback to when he encountered Tomura at the mall. Back then Tomura’s Quirk only worked when he touched a surface with all five fingers. Shoto also attempts to stop the decay, but his Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall fails as well. Neither Deku or Shoto will be a match for the current Tomura. Seeing the devastation from Shigaraki’s Quirk, Burnin orders everyone to flee, grabbing the civilians in arm’s length they run. Meanwhile, Tomura stands near the ruins of the hospital. He realizes that he now has control over his Quirk. We get some interesting information here. Dr. Kyudai Garaki was mass-producing the Quirk-Destroying Drugs, but they’re now destroyed. Furthermore, Overhaul seems to be in contact with Shigaraki.

Gigantomachia is on the move

It’s unclear whether the Quirk-Destroying drugs are gone for good, however, the fact that they’re currently ruined is a good thing. Right now Shigaraki is so powerful that if he also had access to Quirk killing drugs it would be overkill. It’s always important in a Shonen manga/anime to have a balance between the good and bad sides. Regardless, Shigaraki contacts Gigantomachia and orders him to “bring everyone to the city” as he wants to “destroy everything”. At the Gunga Mountain Villa, Tsukuyomi takes Hawks to a medics. The other heroes encounter an outraged Himiko Toga, who has lost it after Twice’s death. As her disguised melts, she points out that she never felt safe in society. She wants to reimagine a world that she can live freely. Back at the hospital, Endeavor charges at Tomura preparing for a fight.

Tomura vs Endeavor

With Gigantomachia on the rampage, Toga on a violent killing spree, and Shigaraki awaken, the heroes are in danger. The large size of both the heroes and Paranormal Liberation Front members makes it difficult to predict the outcome. Heroes with a fighting experience like Gran Torino, Cementoss, Eraser Head, and Present Mic are fighting with the newer heroes like Uravity, Froppy, Shoto, Bakugo, and Deku. The lieutenants of the Paranormal Front are less familiar. So far we only had some intense battles between Dabi and Hawks, and Mirko and the Nomu’s. It seems like the stage is being set for the Tomura and Gigantomachia verses Endeavor, Deku, Bakugo, and Shoto. Trying to predict what happens is a waste of time, but I hope that Endeavor and Tomura have a full battle.

  1. I don’t think Shigaraki and Overhaul are in contact. I think it was more of a sarcastic comment from Shiggy.

    1. That makes more sense.
