Boku no Hero Academia: Ch. 148 Review

Izuku and Shota realization

Izuku checks on Shota, however, he tells Izuku to focuses on Lock Rock, who’s in worst shape. Shota feels that he underestimated the deadliness of the mission, realizing his careless error. Meanwhile, Izuku also has a realization, that “Camie” from the Hero License Exam was Himiko Toga all along.

Sir Nighteye vs Twice

Twice orders the Rappa clone to attack Sir Nighteye. Nighteye easily dodges his assault and counters with a kick. He then throws a Hypermass Seal at him smashing him into a wall. He explains that “when it comes to close combat and prediction he is quite fast, but what he didn’t predict was the League of Villains teaming up with the Eight Precepts of Death.” Shota and Nighteye both seemed shocked that the League of Villains have sided with the Eight Precepts. The Rappa clone dissolves and Twice decries the “uselessness of the yakuza.” Twice ends up fleeing at the attack from Sir Nighteye.

League of Villains and the Eight Precepts

Tomura in a flashback reveals that he decided to ally the League of Villains, but vaguely explains why. Regardless, he sends Himiko and Twice to “seal the deal.” Twice berates Mimic for his weakness and Himiko insults the boss of the yakuza. Mimic becomes enraged and decides that he will allow the Heroes of to have an easier time in order to “crush them all to death.” This chapter was a bit confusing, mainly the motivation for the LOV. Shota and Sir Nighteye raised this question, but it felt like the was suppose to be an answer, but it wasn’t. Sir Nighteye fighting ability seem impressive but wasn’t explored in it entirety.
