Bid fairwell to the mage girls
Ultear explains the effect of the “Third Origin,” to Wendy and Sherria. The ability to “tap into the power of the future.” She tells them that they must sacrifice their ability to use magic if they want the power. Wendy and Sherria bicker on who will make the sacrifice. Meanwhile, Chronos attacks causing Ultear and Wendy to decide that she will make the sacrifice. Ultear uses the “Third Origin,” on Wendy. She attacks Chronos with Sky Dragon’s Claw.
Chronos counters with Age Scratch, and Chronos appears to be unaffected by Wendy’s attacks. She then begins to dominate the fight against Wendy. Sherria protects her just in time, revealing that she was the one that actually used the “Third Origin.” Sherria dominates Chronos, as she remembers what magic meant to her. She uses her final attack, Heavenly Gathering of Clouds. She defeats Chronos, and time returns to normal. Wendy begins healing Carla, as Sherria says that “magic doesn’t compare to love.”
The fights that are appearing in this arc seem to simple. Actually, too simple. I don’t think they all need to be long, but they all shouldn’t be this short. Anyway, I don’t feel too bad about Sherria losing her magic, she is clearly sad about it. However, i doubt she will lose her friendships because of it.
Momonosuke, Heir of the Kouzuki Clan
The Straw Hats realize that Kaido and Captain Jack were after Momonosuke, Kinemon, Kanjuro, and Raido, for information regarding the island of Raftel. They say that Oden didn’t tell them the where about’s of the island, to keep them safe. They express their desire to kill Kaido, they enlist the Minks and Straw Hats to help them. However, Luffy refuses to help, shocking everyone.
He demands that Momonosuke stand up for himself. He “remembers how Kaido killed his father and mother, Momonosuke states his desire to take down Kaido and asks the Straw Hats for help.” Finally, Luffy accepts Momonosuke and forms an alliance with the minks and Wano country. Luffy decides that he needs to get Sanji first from Big Mom. Luffy tells the minks that they shouldn’t worry about him fighting against a Yonko.
The minks prepare to throw a celebration in honor of Inuarashi and Nekomamushi becoming friends again. Meanwhile, Jack and his subordinates return to Zou. However, Jack has decided that instead of killing the minks, he will kill Zou instead. I’m hoping that Luffy and the others face off against Captain Jack. Even if he attacks Zou it will likely not die instantly. There’s a lot on the plate of Straw Hat crew, first they have to save Sanji, then find the location of Raftel, by stealing it from the two Yonko. First things first they need to defeat Jack.
The Princess Dissection
Kisuke acknowledges that Askin has forced his hand, revealing his Bankai. Askin is shocked at what he’s seeing. He acknowledge’s that there wasn’t any Intel on his Bankai. Kisuke responds that he has never revealed his Bankai before. Askin asks “what power his Bankai has.” Kisuke Bankai splits the arm of Askin in half. Askin immediately moves backwards, impressing Kisuke for his foresight.
He says that his Bankai’s ability is “restructure anything it has touched.” Kisuke attacks Askin, and they clash. Kisuke regains his eyesight and seems to separate his own hands and fingers. Askin is overwhelmed with Kisuke power, and responds by using the Gift Ball Deluxe. Kisuke say’s that Askin has “missed something,” and a fist pierces threw his chest. Kisuke explains that Askin’s “Gift Ball,” was described as being “inescapable,” not “impenetrable.” He was able to create a path with his Bankai, showing Grimmjow their location.
I’m still confused by what Kisuke’s Bankai actually does. Clearly, it repairs through stitching, but why did Kisuke cut up his own arm? Did he get stronger because of it? Anyway, Askin appears to finally have been defeated. He was a extremely powerful opponent considering the fact that it took at least four (captain level) Shinigami and Arrancar to kill him. Hopefully, I’ll get more clarity regarding his Bankai next chapter.
