During a media event today, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata shared some minute details on their next console.
With the codename NX, Nintendo will deliver a “brand-new concept” and “dedicated game system” because of a partnership with DeNA, a company that owns a mobile platform in Japan called Mobage. The partnership doesn’t end with a new console, however. Nintendo and DeNA plan to develop original games on mobile devices with the Big N’s franchises.
“Nintendo has made this decision because we have concluded that the approach of making use of smart devices is a rational way for us to encourage even more people around the world to recognize the great value of the wonderful game software available on our dedicated game systems,” Iwata said at the media event.
